Walk Charlie home

Charlie and I walk out of the restaurant, her arm looped through mine. The chilly night air hits us, and she shivers a little.

"Here, take my jacket," you say, taking off your coat and draping it over her shoulders.

"Thanks, Alex," she says, smiling up at you. "You're such a gentleman."

You walk in silence for a few minutes, just enjoying each other's company. The restaurant was only a few blocks from Charlie's apartment, and before you know it, you're standing outside her building.

"Well, this is me," she says, turning to face you.

"Yeah," you say, suddenly feeling a little awkward. "It was a really great night, Charlie. Thanks for coming out with me."

"I had a great time too," she says, reaching up to give you a hug. As you embrace, you feel a surge of emotion, and you wonder if she feels it too.

You pull away from each other, and she looks up at you with a small smile on her face. "Would you like to come up for a drink?" she asks.

You hesitate for a moment, not wanting to push things too far. But the idea of spending more time with her is too tempting to resist. "Sure," you say, smiling back at her.

You take the elevator up to her apartment, and she unlocks the door, letting you in. The place is stylishly decorated, with art on the walls and sleek furniture.

"Make yourself at home," she says, heading towards the kitchen. "What would you like to drink?"

"Whiskey, if you have it," you say, taking a seat on her couch.

"Coming right up," she says, pouring you a generous glass of the amber liquid.

You spend the next hour or so talking and laughing, your conversation ranging from your favorite books to your craziest travel stories. As you drink more, you start to feel a little buzzed, and you can tell Charlie is feeling it too.

"So, Alex," she says, her voice a little slurred. "Tell me something embarrassing about yourself."

You hesitate for a moment, not sure you want to reveal too much. But then you figure what the hell, and you tell her about the time you accidentally walked into the girls' bathroom at school.

Charlie laughs so hard she snorts, and you can't help but laugh too.

"Your turn," you say, grinning at her.

She thinks for a moment, then says, "Okay, when I was in college, I got arrested for stealing a traffic cone."

You burst out laughing, imagining the sophisticated Charlie doing something so silly.

As the night wears on, your conversation becomes more intimate, with Charlie sharing stories about her past relationships and you opening up about your own fears and insecurities. You're surprised by how comfortable you feel around her, how easily the words flow between you.

As the night wears on, you start to feel the effects of the ****. Your head is fuzzy and your movements are a bit uncoordinated. Charlie seems to be feeling the same, as she slurs her words a bit and giggles at things that aren't necessarily funny.

You look at your phone and realize it's already late, and you should probably head home. But the thought of leaving Charlie alone in her drunken state doesn't sit well with you. You don't want her to get hurt or taken advantage of.

As you debate with yourself, Charlie suddenly speaks up. "You know, you don't have to go if you don't want to," she says, her words slurring slightly. "You can stay here if you like. I have a couch you can crash on."

You consider her offer. Part of you is hesitant to spend the night at her place, but another part of you is intrigued by the idea. You could stay here and keep an eye on her, make sure she's okay.

On the other hand, you could just go home and get some rest. You're not sure you want to spend the night on a couch, especially after a long day at work.

You weigh your options carefully and finally make your decision.

Do you:

A) Agree to sleep on Charlie's couch and make sure she's okay throughout the night.

B) Politely decline her offer and walk home.
