Wake Mira and gather the younger children

"What's wrong?" says Mira groggily as you shake her awake.

"Don't know, gather children. Leaving." You reply.

You stand in the doorway of the room and try to focus your senses. You growl at your children and mentally command them to stop scrambling around so you can hear. Instead they scamper over to you and hug your legs. They think you're angry at them. You concentrate on calming them, sending them over to their mother who is gathering some supplies into a pillow case. You close your eyes and focus again. You hear boots at the back door and turn to face it. You crouch and prepare to charge whatever comes through, but nothing does. You close your eyes again, and hear boots moving away from the door. You approach the door cautiously, hoping perhaps the humans are leaving, but knowing better in your gut.

An explosion blinds you for a moment as the door handle disappears in a spray of splinters. You don't hear the men rushing back to the door as your ears ring from the blast. You feel a few thuds against your chest as your vision clears, then make out the blurry shapes of two soldiers bracing their weapons up against the door frame. You don't recognize the guns but they seem ineffective. You charge the men, grabbing them both by the throat and crunching their necks as you pass through the door and out of the building. There are eight men lined up to your right with the same weapons, all of them open fire as you rush them with an ugly smile on your face, large projectiles with bent or broken needles at their tip clatter to the ground as they bounce off you.

"Negative skin penetra--"

You kill the yelling one by removing his head, turning the rest into screaming ones. You shred through four of the screaming ones, turning the rest into sprinting ones. You chase the remaining three. They break off in different directions, but you're so much faster. A quick run and a few savage swipes later, you stand victorious, blood rushing your ears, exalted. Your joy is broken when you feel and hear your children screeching. You look at the building from the outside, noticing that it is now covered in plastic sheeting as you head back toward the door, which remains uncovered.

"How could the humans have done this without waking me?"

You ignore an approaching thudding sound as you run into the building. You children lie smoldering in the hallway, and two men with silver suits and headgear spray you with their flamethrowers. The heat is painful but manageable, and doesn't seem to damage you. You charge with rage at these murderers, ignoring the flames until you reach them. You bury your claws in both men, pulling back your gore covered hands as they slump to the ground. You fight back the pain as your pass your children, and look for Mira.

She is in the room where you left her. A man with a heavily scarred face has his arm around her and a gun to her head.

"Easy now, big boy. This is your mate, right? Aren't you bred to protect her, huh? You just fucking behave yourself."

Despite his words, even through the smoke you smell his fear. You show him your teeth and take a step forward.

The man's radio squawks as the thudding outside grows very loud and passes over the building toward the back.

"Holy shit, anybody alive down there!? Initiating eradication protocol in 3..."

The man grabs for his radio, keeping the gun pointed at Mira.

"Do not fire, repeat, do not fire!"

"Is it contained!?"

"Yes, don't fi--"

You roar at the man and take another step

"Sorry Dewer. Contain or eradicate."

You hear a rushing sound and the building explodes around you, destroying you all.

Perhaps you shouldn't have stayed so long in the same place. It appears you are being hunted.
