Wait Until The Morning

Bah, there’s no use in wasting time on yourself, especially when there’s a perfectly good opportunity to test it on someone else. You just have to wait a little.

Tucking away your coding setup, you slip out of your office chair and head to hit the sack, rubbing your bleary eyes as you get ready for bed.

The bathroom light flicks on, reflections on the mirror wall bouncing light off from the ceiling and into your face. While your eyes adjust, you blindly scrounge around for your toothbrush and push the faucet on, a cool stream hitting your fingers as you test the temperature — only a masochist willingly wets their brush with warm water. Your mundane routine is interrupted by a buzz from your phone as your AR vision implant pops out in front of your vision:

“Hey, I can’t sleep. Got home from the club and I’m wayyyy too wired to close my eyes. You up?” — Gabby

Well there’s a surprise. Gabby Homada — your partner in crime during your college days — is usually the type of woman to be up at this hour, but you haven’t gotten a ‘u up lol’ text from her in months. Not since you let her know you were keeping the midnight oil burning, working on your next big app, at least. That’s someone who you could rope in to test right now. Or, you could still wait til a less ungodly hour of the morning.
