Visiting a grave.

I had skipped the Kurosaki family meeting yesterday to keep my watch on Rukia, but I doubt that attending it would have saved me from the ball of crazy that this family was. Who made their daughter carry the luggage? Who would walk up a hill on his hands? Who would make a full body slide on concrete to spy on his daughter’s panties? Who would kick said power slider down a hill?

Astounded I stood beside Rukia who stood in the middle of the street, wearing another summer dress, white and red this time, while waving with a wide-brimmed hat. She was just as crazy.

Kurosaki stormed over and dragged Rukia away from his family. What followed was a discussion that pretty much amounted to Ichigo getting very angry and revealing that he had killed his mother. I will spare you the details, after all he was not my target in this mission.

I stood behind Rukia as she loathed about her accusations. To my ears they had been reasonable but there was no arguing with someone who was convinced he killed his mother. Silently I stood there and watched as Rukia spoke with the lion plushie.

Until a sinister presence took both of our attention away. A hollow, a pretty strong one at that. Moments later the sound of two phones ringed through the air and Rukia stormed of. I had hoped for this kind of situation but with the rest of Kurosaki’s family here this was not the optimal scenario.

But there was no helping it, if I intercepted the hollow now, providing I was even capable of that, it would jeopardize my mission. I closely followed Rukia, my orders were clear: To spy, not to make her job for her.

On the way we ran into Ichigo and the two of them had a kinda heartfelt moment before Rukia slipped on a glove and pushed Ichigos soul out of his body. Normal souls would wear the clothes of their body and be connected to their physical self by a chain but what came out was Ichigo in a Shinigami uniform and an impractical large sword.

I stood still, there was no reason to hurry anymore I had fulfilled my mission. Rukia had created a substitute Shinigami and lost her powers in the process, hence why she currently used a Gigai. I could only guess that she stopped reporting because she had hoped that nobody would order her back as long as she kept her head down for a while.

With my report in order I ran after the duo. I was already here I would at least see this fight through, if casualties could be avoided by my presence it would better to stay. I arrived on Ichigo fighting a hollow, whose form kind of reminded me of an overgrown rat with green fur and an enormous mask for a head.

A puppet like form dangled from his head, leaving no doubt about which hollow Ichigo was facing. Grand Fisher exchanged fierce blows with the substitute Shinigami. Gravestones crumbled, stone paths were crushed and patches of green turned into brown hills of dirt along the path of their fight.

The hollow had the advantage, wound after wound appeared on Ichigos body. But Rukia stood there and took it in. Whatever had happened prior to my arrival, Ichigo apparently wanted to fight alone.

Well, I wasn’t about to jump into that. I watched the tide of battle rage ever more in the hollows favour until Ichigo pulled an incredibly reckless move. The guy let himself be impaled so he could pin the Grand Fisher down.

Unbelievably enough it worked and he greatly damaged the beast. Both where rendered unable to fight by grievous wound but the hollow had one last trick up his sleeve. While taunting Ichigo he retreated into his puppet body and then fled into the sky.

I jumped after the hollow, I wasn’t about to let such a huge threat get away so close to ****, but as the gateway to Hueco Mundo opened an even greater power pushed me back. It seems like stronger hollows had an interest in Grand Fishers survival.

There was nothing I could do but watch as the hollow faded from this plain of existence. With the hollow driven away I turned to Rukia, who was currently busy healing Ichigo. He would make it, that much I was certain of but I had my own quest to worry about.
