Visiting California: A Short Detour (Day 1)

As Kim napped, the sky cleared and the sun shone brightly as the elderly couple drove the rest of the way to their neighborhood, but as they neared the house, they saw one of their neighbors, Mrs. Krabtree, standing in their driveway. Kim's grandfather stopped the car on the curb and rolled down both windows to greet her, but the woman has a solemn face.

"Margaret, why so glum?" The old.man asked the usually jovial Mrs. Krabtree.

"Oh, it's my daughter. She's been feeling cooped up in our house for the past couple days. Not many kids out here, you know." She began.

"Yes, it's how we like it!" The man mused and smiled, hoping it would improve her mood.

"Yes, I know. But...I heard you said your granddaughter will be spending time here...is that her in the backseat?" Mrs. Krabtree tried to peek into the truck from the outside.

"Oh, Margaret, she's napping, but yes. We just picked her up." Kim's grandmother said, moving aside so Mrs. Krabtree could look inside.

"Oh, she looks older than my Millie...." Mrs. Krabtree observed and added, "and no modesty on this one, hmm?"

"Oh, she's 18, here on vacation for the week." The grandmother said.

"Oh? That's the same age as Millie. With breasts like that, I imagined her to be more...mature. But this means Millie will have a friend for a while!"

Just then, footsteps joined Margaret Krabtree...

"Mom, I heard you all talking about me...?" A girl about Kim's age steps out of the house.

"Oh, Millie! Come see who's visiting the neighbors." Margaret waves the girl over.

Millie shrugs and steps close to the car. Her eyes lights up as she sees the nearly naked napping girl.

"She's...I mean..where are her clothes?" Millie asks.

"Oh, she got soaked by some rain at the airport. Why don't you and I take her clothes and suitcase to her room? I hate to wake a sleeping beauty. She must be so tuckered out from her trip.." Kim's grandmother explained.

"Ok! Lead the way." Millie grabbed the suitcase while the older woman took the discarded clothes from the truck bed, and they head inside.

"Seems your daughter will make fast friends with my granddaughter." Kim's grandfather said to Margaret.

"Seems so. Plus, it seems she wants an all over tan. The sun will do her good."

"Definitely!"

Margaret looks at Kim and thinks a moment.

"You know, I had another issue I'd like you to take a look at, but will she be ok out here?"

"Sure. My wife should finish helping Millie on no time, and they'll help Kim to her room. What did you need?"

"Oh, I think mytoilet's acting...odd. I hear dripping, but nothing is on the floor. No leaks...I feel like I'm going nuts!"

"Oh, it may be the overflow pip in your toilets tank....ok, I'll give it a look. Should only be a minute or two."

Margaret leads the old man into her house, leaving the thong clad Kim napping in the car parked in the driveway.
