Vigilante Justice
FOREWORD (IMPORTANT): The whole Blizzard drama (amongst many IRL commitments stopping me from writing anything) made me lose a lot of my passion for the worlds and fandoms related to the company. I still think they do not deserve any quarter but in the same vein this is my story by now, not theirs. With that sake, I want to take a few chapters to do some of my own justice to the characters who is the namesake of one of the supposed monsters. So you can treat this as a trigger warning as well as the following chapters regarding this character may be on the dark side, giving the namesake a taste of what the real life equivelant may or may not have done. The "dark" arc will end with the chapter "What Happens in Talon Stays in Talon".
Small bars were the best, his old hunting ground. Je… Cole enjoyed the view of the western themed barmaids. Just chilling around, remembering the good ole days before his employers had to swoop in and fix the mess revealed by some nosy investigative journalist. Now he was on a short leash when it came to his “pick up game”. Sure it was mostly to do with Overwatch staff, and sure they may have been **** or even said no, but he was a rockstar and those dumb bitches should have known their place! Now he was down to just stalking the watering holes finding some naive chicks and having his fun with them, still he had to be really careful because the higher ups at Overwatch hate cleaning up his mess, as much as they were his buddies.
To Cole’s disappointment, his new company turned out to be a man, just sitting next to him at the bar. The man ordered a whiskey and just played with his payment-chip before the barmaid gave him his order. The man turned around to chat up Cole.
“Man, those places are vintage, like straight out of western movies.” The fellow spoke.
Cole sighed and just shrugged, he may endure some company “Yep, they have quite the charm.”
“You too seem to just lean into the aesthetic there, no?” The man waved to the barmaid again. Who came in with his order and one extra glass of the same order, placing it down at the bar. “Consider it a gift for a fellow vintage enjoyer.” He smirked and took a sip.
Cole chuckled and picked up the glass, holding it for a moment he looked at the man. “You could say, it's just how I roll.” He then downed the drink in one gulp, enjoying the burn of the whiskey. It took him a moment before he felt dizzy and slumped over the bar a little, grabbing his head.
“Oh my god, it seems my buddy had too much to drink, I’ll help him out.” The man spoke up for the surrounding people to hear, out of the corner of his fading vision, Cole could see people just give him a bit of attention and returning to whatever they were doing, clearly a person overdoing on the drinks was common here.
The man leaned in to Cole and spoke with a lower voice, only for Cole to hear “Jesse, Jesse, didn’t you think your little stunts wont come back to haunt you?”
======================================================================
Cole woke up with a startle, she wasn’t in the little bar anymore, the booming club music was clearly heard around her, it seemed like a big city establishment. Hold on… She? She clearly remembered being a man, the conversation at a bar and then passing out. Well, this seemed like a nightmare, but somehow she wasn’t surprised by the sudden change and it felt natural to her… Still, the gap in her memory did not feel right. Her outfit! Well that was not what she was wearing! What in tarnation was going on…
