Variables and Replayability

This is a CYOA experiment intended to make a story that feels both complete and highly variable based on the "mad libs" style answers you fill in the blanks with. Throughout the game there will be a very large amounts of variable text, with any full start/finish playthrough only featuring a fraction of the game's total wordcount.

As a result, this game is intended to be highly repayable, with the potential for lots of new content and subtle shifts in tone based on the options you select. Don't think of a single start/finish run as a complete expierience.

To help that process, and to ensure that you're able to differentiate new content, some of the variable content will be in Bold to draw your attention. Where you see Bold text, it means that it is responding to previous choices. When replaying segments of the game, I advise you to pay special attention there.

However, to ensure that the entire text isn't bolded, there will be some text segments that aren't bolded. To help you differentiate, I will list them here.

1. At present, there is no content for any other wife besides Kaori. The game is so large, that adding another massive variable like wife type is impossible. However, when/if I do add other wife options, they will have their own specific branches without bold text.

2. Where a variable text segment is sufficiently long (usually in the 300-500 word range) I will split it off into it's own chapter. In these cases, I will designate the variable with a parenthesis in the chapter. In cases where I do, I won't bold that variable as the entire chapter is assumed to be variable content.

3. Short text changes, such as switching pronouns, will not pepper the page with bold text. Anything that's one sentence or smaller won't be marked.

4. Because the Male/Female split is also an extremely common variable, and because I frequently use it for smaller changes, I will not bold that variable. However, in cases with large Male/Female variables, especially sex scenes, I will still do split chapters.
