Chapter 20

Vampires III

I stood on the balcony of my room, gazing out over the vast expanse that separated Dracula's castle from Wano. The city lights twinkled in the distance, gradually dimming as the town settled into the quiet of night. One by one, the lights went out, and the entire city was soon cloaked in darkness.

As the world outside went to sleep, Dracula's castle came to life. The servants bustled in the kitchens, preparing elaborate meals, while the vampires lounged and entertained themselves in the grand halls. From my vantage point, I could see two vampire henchmen, Vesper and Lucian, sparring in the mountains near the castle, their movements fluid and deadly.

I leaned against the balustrade, my eyes following the soothing circular motion of the stars until I could no longer keep them open. Sleep claimed me, and I drifted into a rare moment of peace.

I was awoken abruptly by the sound of commotion echoing through the corridors. People were running, shouting alerts to the creatures of the night and the henchmen to prepare for battle. The castle was under attack.

I hurried out of my room, peering down from the many levels above into the main hallway. There, a single woman in shining armor with scarlet hair stood against a horde of creatures of the night. She moved with grace and fierceness, her magic allowing her to change armor and weapons as she cut through the enemies with unparalleled skill.

Suddenly, a voice called out to me from the balcony. I turned to see a lithe elf woman with blonde hair and a short green tunic. She stepped into my room, urgency in her eyes.

"We came to save you," she said, her voice low and hurried. "We need to go now while Erza distracts the castle's defenses."

My heart raced. The thought of rescue, of finally escaping this nightmare, was almost too much to bear. Tears welled in my eyes as I struggled to believe that this was real. I wanted to go, to follow her to freedom, but a part of me hesitated, afraid that this was just another cruel trick.

Just as I was about to move, a thick curtain fell over the balcony, plunging the room into darkness. Almost immediately, one of Dracula's human henchmen, Gregory, and the female vampire henchman, Seraphine, dropped onto the balcony and rushed at the elf.

The elf tried to defend herself, her movements quick and precise, but she was no match for the combined strength of the two henchmen. She was knocked out, crumpling to the ground in a heap. My heart sank as the fragile hope of escape was shattered in an instant.

Dracula himself then stepped into the hallway, his presence commanding and menacing. He extended a hand, using his magic to immobilize Erza. She struggled against the invisible bonds, her magic flaring in defiance. But Dracula, drawing on the vast reserves of the castle's magic, increased the power of his spell and successfully captured her.

I watched in horror as Erza was brought to her knees, her fierce spirit momentarily subdued. The castle's defenders had triumphed, and my brief hope of rescue was snuffed out as quickly as it had appeared.

Dracula turned his gaze to me, his eyes filled with a dark promise. "You see, my dear," he said, his voice a chilling whisper, "no one can take you from me. You are mine, and I will protect you from all threats."

Dracula entered my bedroom, his presence filling the space with an overwhelming sense of dread. He walked over to me, his eyes gleaming with dark intent. "Come with me, my dear," he commanded, taking my hand.

I had **** but to follow him through the dimly lit corridors of the castle, descending deeper into its bowels until we reached the dungeon. The air was thick with the smell of damp stone and old blood. In the center of the room, Ada and Erza hung by their feet and arms, completely naked and ****. Their bodies bore the marks of ****, their faces etched with pain and defiance.

"These women are the proof that I was right to keep you with me," Dracula said, his voice echoing off the walls. "They came to take you from me, and now they will pay the price for their foolishness. There will be no diplomacy with Wano."

One of the human henchmen, Gregory, stepped forward with a magical device in his hand. He activated it, and immediately, Ada and Erza convulsed in agony, their screams piercing the silence of the dungeon. The device was a cruel instrument of ****, designed to inflict the maximum amount of pain.

Dracula watched with a cold, detached interest. "They have not answered any of our questions under pain," he explained. "But I have been thinking about using the machine you helped me create to induce pleasure in their brains instead. When they answer our questions truthfully, they will receive a reward. I used your advice on the mice, and the experiment worked so well that the mice used the machine to receive dopamine continuously without sleeping or eating until it died. A truly potent device."

I felt a wave of nausea and horror wash over me. I had helped create that machine, never imagining it would be used for such a purpose. Desperately, I tried to think of a way to help Ada and Erza. "But they could just lie," I blurted out. "You wouldn't know, and the device wouldn't help."

Dracula considered my words for a moment before nodding. "You are right, my dear. They are now worthless to us."

He turned to his henchmen. "These women are to be given to the servants. They will be cooked and served at dinner."

My heart sank as I realized the fate that awaited Ada and Erza. I felt utterly helpless, unable to save them from this nightmare.
