Chapter 166 by bobbobbobthethir

Who is it?

Valentine, because you find her foxy

“It’s got to be one of the Zeta girls,” Val says.

“Uh… not quite,” you answer.

“Oh, so one of the Theta girls then,” Mars says, glancing over at their spot in the stands.

“Nope, not one of them either,” you say. “I was thinking of… somebody else.”

“Who?” Mars asks, a slight frown on her face as she tries to puzzle it out.

“She’s someone special,” you say.

Mars and Val share a look, and then Val grins, staring deep into your eyes.

“Ooooh! I know! It’s Lisa!” she says.

“No, it’s not,” you say, resisting the urge to roll your eyes. “She’s right here in front of me.”

The two girls share a look with each other again. Mars’ mouth opens slightly in shock, while the grin on Val’s face grows just a tad wider.

“It’s you,” you say, putting a hand on Val’s knee. “Will you be my Valentine?”

Your teammate is unable to hold a straight face. She bursts out laughing and pulls you in with a side hug, resting her head on your shoulder.

“Y’know Alex, I always thought you were a smooth guy,” she says, “but with pick-up lines like that? Yeah, no wonder you need us to be your wing-girls.”

“It’s the best I could come up with in the moment,” you weakly protest, wrapping one of your arms around her shoulder, enjoying the simple contact between the two of you. “But here’s something better: I Val-ue you more than my bank account, which has… um… not that much money, but enough…”

“Shut up before I change my mind about this,” Val laughs, and she tilts her head upwards, meeting your lips with a fiery kiss.

Her lips catch you off guard, even though they really shouldn’t have. Maybe it’s because you’ve been thinking about this moment for weeks now. It doesn’t matter. You just feel the way her lips entangle against yours and you never want them to separate. It’s impossible for something to burn across your lips like her red lips do, almost overwhelmingly so, and the heat of the moment carries you away. You’re obsessed with this girl and you want her so badly. That’s the fire she ignites in your chest, even as the cool of her tongue flickers against yours. Before you know it you’re Frenching her, holding her tight, and then Val breaks the kiss, laughing under her breath.

“Alright, that makes up for all those pick-up lines,” Val says. “I never would have guessed you’d be this good a kisser.”

“Words are hard,” you complain. “Actions mean everything.”

“Pity you can’t lead with kisses,” Mars says, looking at the two of you with a wry detachment.

“Sorry for making you third-wheel, gal pal, but I’m going for seconds,” Val smiles, and the brunette girl goes in for another kiss.

The second kiss between the two of you is somehow more urgent than the first. Mashing faces with Valentine shouldn’t produce these swirling effects down in your stomach, but they do. Away you go, kissing each other hard, your hands roaming over each other’s clothes, a hand of yours slipping under Val’s denim jacket to caress her white shirt. She’s got a hand on your chest, pulling on it, and then you break apart again.

“Oh, the things we’d get into if we weren’t in public,” Val laughs, giving you a wink. “But I’m not that much of an exhibitionist.”

“Thank god for that,” Mars says. “I was ready to pack my bags and dip early. Not even us thrashing Schmarvard on the court would be worth sitting through whatever was happening between you two.”

“Come on, we wouldn’t subject you to a whole game’s worth of that,” you laugh, glancing at Val.

“Yeah, because that would mean missing the game,” Val nods.

That said, the three of you laugh and lean back in your seats, watching the opening play of the game.

The game closes out with Stonewall trouncing Schmarvard with a twenty point lead. You cheer with Mars and Val as the team does a victory lap around the court, and then the three of you head back out to the tailgate after-party to celebrate and get sloshed on cheap beer.

“I’d call tonight a success,” Mars says, raising her bottle in a toast. “What a game that was!”

“A roaring success,” Val nods, raising her own bottle. “Plus, I got to make out with a cute guy.”

She looks at you, raising an eyebrow.

“And I got to make out with a cute girl,” you laugh, raising your own bottle.

“Oh no, don’t you two get started again,” Mars laughs, shaking her head. “I need some friends to keep me company tonight.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll keep our hands off each other,” Val says. She nudges you on the shoulder. “But y’know, I’ve got plans tomorrow. Maybe you’d like to join?”

“What are you planning?” you ask.

“Something fun,” Val smiles. “I’ll tell you at practice tomorrow.”

“So that means…?” you ask, but Val simply shakes her head, putting a finger to her lips.

You look to Mars pleadingly, but she just shrugs her shoulders.

“You know as much as I do,” she says. “There’s the Theta fundraiser tomorrow. Is that it?”

“Nope, not even remotely right,” Val smirks, shaking her head, pleased with herself for keeping you and Mars guessing. “It’s a secret! For now… it’s high time we had more to drink!”

The three of you match bottles and you down the rest of your drink, closing the night in good company.

Valentine +25
Mars +5

What better way to spend a Valentine’s Day? :)
