Ursa has second thoughts

"What did you do?" Ursa screamed inside her head as Vaatu walked her body down the hall. "What did you do to my daughter?"

"Your daughter is fine," Vaatu explained. "I copied her ability to bend fire as well as the relevant skills to use it. Now you are a bender," He told Ursa.

"But this power...it isn't mine," Ursa said in disbelief. "It's Azula's."

"Foolish human, do you not know the truth of bending. Bending is an ability granted to humans by the lion turtles of old. It is not something they have had naturally." Vaatu scolded. "To claim that this power belongs to any human is foolish claim. Even the great Avatar does not wield the elements on their own,"

"Wait...what? But the Avatar is the master..."

"Of all 4 elements? No, the spirit of Raava holds the 4 elements within her and as Raava resides in the Avatar, they are granted the power."

"Still....you stole from my daughter, you hurt her." Ursa sobbed. "You made me hurt her,"

"Perhaps, but it is to teach her a lesson." Vaatu said as he began replaying numerous memories of Azula to Ursa. "Your daughter has never been the kindest of individuals especially to her brother or her friends. She's her father's child after all. It will be good to break her out of that habit." Vaatu noted. "Wouldn't you agree?"

"That's not...." Ursa wanted to argue but she couldn't find the words. Vaatu had left her speechless and the weight of Azula's own memories of her own cruelty and how it mirrored Ozai's was shaking her will. "What is your end goal Vaatu?" Ursa asked.

"To free this world." Vaatu answered. "Should the fire nation continue, this war will end with controlling the whole world, there will be total control and order by the fire nation. I will not stand for it." Vaatu explained. "As such I plan to end this war, by stopping it from within, by asserting you as the new leader of the fire nation or at least by allowing you to guide and shape the future leaders, your children into making a better world." Vaatu explained.

"And what does this have to do with fighting Ozai," Ursa asked.

"Why...we make an example." Vaatu explained. "The fire nation respects power, that's why they sought you out in the first place. They wanted the granddaughter of Avatar Roku to 'breed' with the current prince to make the next generation stronger...isn't that right" Vaatu asked.

"There was no love involved. To Ozai and Azulon you were but a means to an end, a cog in their plan. You were taken from your home and stripped of whatever connections you had before, all because they believe your bloodline would be powerful." Vaatu noted. "They want power, they respect power and if you want to be able to protect your children, to make them think twice about throwing your children's lives away, you need to show them that you, Ursa, granddaughter of Roku, has the power to rival theirs.

"Now I'll give you a choice....you can either accept my offer, let me use my power to help you stay alive, to ensure Ozai does nothing else against Zuko and ensure that Azulon will never consider touching them, or you continue to deny it, face Ozai without me, and let him kill you and then Zuko." Vaatu explained.

"I..." Ursa stuttered. She replayed the memories and events that had passed and the reminders of her past had come to mind. She remembered how they had taken her away, how she had missed her family and her friends so much. She remembered how Ozai had taken advantage of her before, how he told her his plans to **** their son. "I want to protect them." She responded.

"Good...now let's go," Vaatu urged. "We have much to do."
