Unexpected call

After having your quick brunch together, you're both getting ready to leave when the house phone rings.

"Hello?"

"Hi Jane, I'm sorry to call on a Sunday as I know you and John like to spend the day together uninterrupted. However, I've got a bit of a situation that has come up. My new job requires me to move to where you live to bring some new people up to speed and supervise them. I'm struggling to find a place to rent that isn't a rip off while I'm there that falls within the moving expense budget work allotted me. I'm wondering if I can stay at yours in the spare bedroom until I can find somewhere. While they didn't say how long they would need me there. I have a feeling it's going to be longer than just a few months, and they need me there asap."

"Wow. It's great that you're being trusted to train and supervise a new group of people to the company, but this really seems like short notice from them to you. Or am I wrong?"

"No, you're dead right. It was short notice. The person they had originally intended to train and supervise the new people ended up getting arrest for a DUI and is currently locked up awaiting trial. As I'm the only other person that has had some experience training people, and know the systems the newbies are going to need to know for their jobs. I was the only person they could turn too. I know I'm asking a lot, but I've already cleared it with HR, that if I do move into yours the moving expenses can be used to pay you rent while I live with you."

"Alright, let me quickly ask John and see what he says. Give me a minute."

Placing the call on hold, she explains everything to you that Emma told her. While you don't like the idea of Emma staying here, as you're worried she's going to see you dressed or interrupt one of you play sessions with Jane. You reluctantly agree, as you know that she's right about rent prices, and if it's going to be longer than a few months then staying at a hotel for that long will be too expensive.

"Alright, Emma he agreed. When do you need to be moved in by?"

"I'm getting what I need packed now. I need to be moved in as soon as, so it'll probably be sometime this week that I'll be moved in. As you've already got a bed, and a TV in the spare bedroom I won't need to bring those and mine can stay at mum's for now. I'll just be packing my clothes, toiletries, some of my books, and my computer and computer desk. If I remember right the spare bedroom has space for my desk, so I'll set that up in there with my computer. Work are going to be paying for the move, and hiring the movers from the company they use. I'll just need to make sure they load and then unload my stuff without damaging anything."

"Okay, this week should be fine. Just let me know the day, as while John will be at work, I'm home most days working on the commissions I have. I can help you unpack your stuff, and get you settled in."

"Oh thank you Jane. You have no idea how much this helps. I promise I'll stay out of way, and the two of you won't even notice I'm there. Hopefully I can find a place to rent not long after I get there, and I won't be there for long. I gotta go and finish packing up. Thanks again, love you sis."

"Love you too sis. Just remember to give me a call when you know the day. Bye"

Hanging up the phone Jane gives a sigh.

"I guess that ruins our plans for the day. We need to get the spare bedroom ready for my sister, and that means we need to move the prints I have stored in the wardrobe into my office. Then put dust and clean the room fully, along with making sure the room is aired out and there are clean sheets on the bed. Also gotta clean the bathroom, and make sure that the water valves for the shower and taps get turned back on. Come on, lets get changed into some joggers and a t-shirt."

Heading upstairs you both grab a pair of jogging bottoms and a t-shirt. Changing out of your uniform and Jane out of her dress and putting on the more appropriate clothes for cleaning. Heading to the spare bedroom, it takes several hours to clean everything. Once everything was cleaned and ready for Emma to move in, it was too late to go swimming, and you both took a shower and had dinner. After dinner, you spent time working on some personal projects before retiring to the bedroom together and sleeping.
