Uneven Challenges

"Challenge: Spit in Mary's coffee. Earns 1 - 3 Karma Points depending on volume of saliva.

Forfeit: Coffee ban." Barbara reads, audibly disgusted.

"Challenge: Let Barbara spit in your coffee as much as she wants, then drink it. Earns 4 Karma Points.

Forfeit: Burning asshole." Mary whimpers.

"What should we do?!" Barbara whispers.

"I don't know! I'm... I'm starting to believe it's real, Barbara." Mary murmurs back.

"I don't mind spitting in your drink." Barbara muses.

"Well you're not the one who has to drink it!" Mary hisses.

"Does that mean you don't want me to?" Barbara asks.

"Yes... No... I don't know!" Mary whines.

"Well if it is real, this entity doesn't seem to like waiting." Barbara says carefully. "I doubt we have long."

You're not wrong there, Barbara. I'm more than happy to carry out these forfeits. But I'm also hoping that while a little degrading, this is mild enough to actually get you two to finally engage with the 'game'.

"Fine, do it. Just... Don't get any, like, phlegm in it." Mary says, audibly cringing.

"Okay, sure. Pass it here." Barbara replies.

And then there's a silent pause.

"What are you doing?" Mary asks, confused.

"Building up a big bit of spit." Barbara replies, vindictively.

"Barbara, come on! Don't be a bitch!" Mary hisses.

"If this thing is real, the person who loses gets 'total public humiliation and nationwide infamy'. And if that's true, we're on opposite teams here, and I don't want to be several points behind." Barbara says matter-of-factly.

And then I hear her spit into Mary's drink.

"Gross." Mary says.

TIME STOP

I dont' know exactly how much spit went in, but I was also vague about exactly how much was needed to earn any certain number of points.

Rummaging through my case, I retrieve a board game I bought. I open it up and start popping out little cardboard tokens with characters from a Chinese alphabet on them. I don't know which ones, but I bet Mary and Barbara don't recognize them either.

I take two. and place them under Mary's coffee mug, making sure it's still in exactly the same place as it started - both Time Stopped bitches are looking straight at it.

After spending a few moments holding middle fingers in their faces for my own amusement, I hide under the desk again, and get ready for the surprise.

TIME START

It's only a few moments before Mary takes her coffee mug back, and they discover the two tokens with mysterious East Asian symbols on them.

They both gasp.

"Those were NOT there a moment ago." Barbara says., sounding hoarse.

"What... What do they mean?!" Mary squeals.

"I think... I think I have two Karma Points?" Barbara reasons.
