Understand your power

You decide that it would be safest to understand your power, so that you don't end up killing yourself or blowing up the world on accident or something. You decide to wish to understand what your power can do. Instantly, one word floats through your mind.

"Anything."

Your jaw drops slightly as the possibilities in your mind expand to the infinite. Desires and wishes that you could never fulfill because of practical reasons suddenly seem a thought away now. You're not about to start testing everything yet, though, so you make another wish. You wish to know the limits of your power. More words appear in your mind.

"There is no physical limit to the extent of your power, but you must wish for it to happen for it to be true. The only limit is your own imagination, but you can even wish for a better imagination if you want one. You must also intend for the wish to come true for it to actually do so."

That reminds you of a thought that had been lurking for a while, intent. You wish to know how closely the wishes will follow your intents, or if will freely interpret your wishes, or something else. Given how the alarm clock you got was pretty much the one you had in mind when it changed, you feel you're probably safe here, but with infinite power at stake, you want to be sure.

"Wishes will follow the intent as you mean it, precisely as you mean it, with all the hidden implications that you intend."

This really gets you thinking. How would the wish-granting system, mechanism, person or whatever even know what your intent is? Is it a form of artificial intelligence? You wish to know the answer to these questions.

"The power that interprets your wishes is the same that grants these wishes. Its power is infinite and is at your bidding."

You smile as you realize that this basically means nothing can stop you now... except for others with the power. You wish to know if others have this power, too.

"There's an alien outside of humankind's observable radius that has the power too. Besides the alien, there is only you who has this power."

This worries you. What if the alien decides to wipe out the entire universe? What if the alien makes everything in existence follow his command? You wish to know if you should be concerned about the alien.

"The alien will not bother you if you do not bother it, with 100% certainty. Given your concern over others using this power, you will be notified if others gain the power that you have or similar powers or levels of power."

You smile, realizing that the way the wishes work knew that you would want safeguards even before you asked about them. You wish to know if you can lose the power, in any way.

"No, unless a person with sufficient power wants to strip you of power. You will be notified if such a being exists, and if the being would wish to do so."

You feel like you've covered all your bases. Unless you deliberately wish to screw things up, everything will go in your favor from now on. You decide to do something with your newfound powers.
