Chapter 22 by TheFallacyGuy TheFallacyGuy

Which newspaper do you choose?

Undercreek Tribune - Tuesday, 24th of May, 1884 - Spice Factory Workers' Strike Still Strong

On the front page of the newspaper is a picture of a big factory hall. It looks modern and new and like it's been hardly used. It is also completely empty. The article reads:

Spice Factory Workers' Strike Still Strong

The strike of Allman & Sons Spices, the biggest spice company in the world located in Dijana has for two weeks now faced a workers' strike.

The strike group Allman or No Man, protests against the lack of safety the new factory infrastructure brings. A large picket line, consisting of at least one hundred and fifty disgruntled workers has formed outside of the new factory gates.

"It's just too dangerous to be working with tools like these." says Allman or No Man spokesperson, Omar Irfan, who has led the strike since the beginning: "It's completely irresponsible to make workers work in this kind of environment. There are no safety railings, and there is no real air circulation which is a problem with the people working with the stronger spices. It also gets really hot in a city where the temperature is already high."

The Allman & Sons company has since the strike been **** to close down much of the new factory and only produce processed spices used for medicinal purposes. Allman & Sons has since then issued the following statement.

"We here at Allman & Sons Spices understand the frustration of the changes recently brought to the factory in Dijana. We are willing to listen and to negotiate further means of worker safety."

But a statement like that does little to satiate Irfan and the rest of the strikers.

"Listen to it. 'Willing to negotiate' they say." Irfan argues: "Worker safety is not something they would implement without second thought, it's something they have to negotiate. We are tired of negotiations. We are not negotiating anymore, we are demanding."

Spices, huh? It kind of reminds you of the spices they used at the orc camp. Well, one spice anyway. You never got the name of the spice, but the orcs put it on everything. You're kind of nostalgic for the taste. You could really go for some it right now. Like really go for it. You put the newspaper down.
