Uncomfortable

Lily's expression slowly morphs into a frown.

John, that's...really not what I meant. I honestly don't mind if you want one or both of us to sleep with someone else, but please don't bring my family into it, that's just...weird," she says, looking quite uncomfortable.

"I thought you said you found them attractive? So I figured if it was between two consenting adults, surely you'd understand," you reply lamely, trying to salvage the situation.

Lily pauses for a moment before replying.

"I do have an attractive family," she begins, and the way she bites her lip gives you hope.

"So I guess I don't blame you for wanting that, but it still doesn't feel right. They're family, and I really don't want to think of them that way," she concludes.

You can't help but notice that even though she's against the idea, it sounds like she actually considered it. You wonder if you might be able to bring her around eventually. But for now you drop the subject, and try to appease her by talking about other things. She seems uncomfortable for a while longer, and you desperately hope you haven't done any permanent harm to your relationship.
