UPDATE #1: A Quick Roadmap

Hello, fellow internet denizens! Thanks to all of you reading my story; the bits of feedback I've gotten so far have been really encouraging to see. There's been a few people noting that they are looking forward to seeing how things will develop, and I'd like to have a place to help clarify where I see things going and when things are going to come out. To that end, here's update #1.

First, laying out a timetable. Part of what made me start working on this story was a sudden gap in my schedule that opened up a few more hours a week that I could work on fun side projects. Unfortunately, that time is about to be eaten up again and my updates are probably going to slow down quite significantly as a result. Ideally, I'm hoping to still update once or twice a week depending on how crazy things get, but in all likelihood I'll be slowed down to once a week until things clear up again.

That said, I have a lot planned for this story that I think people can look forward to. So secondly, I want to talk a bit about the kind of structure of the story and where it's going to move from here. I initially conceived of this story as being kind of like an interconnected anthology series, but the idea morphed as I got into story-boarding what I actually wanted to do. I wound up really liking the main cast I created for the "Mary" branch, and the idea changed to track their lives more closely in this new social order.

So, what does that mean? Basically, my current plans for this story are as follows: complete the current Mary branch through the girls' trip, then begin working on a follow-up branch that will follow Angela's return to Avery, Pastel, and Rod in the suburbs after the trip ends. I'm envisioning the initial Mary branch as being somewhere in the neighborhood of at least twenty-five or thirty chapters, and having the following Angela branch stem off from there as a natural continuation and be a similar length. One or more of the beginning chapters of Angela's branch will probably be a little recap as well, since I'm planning on maintaining a continuity between the branches and pulling in some of the same characters as well.

After I finish those up, I've got several ideas for where the story might go. That said, none of them are fully in stone yet, so I will wait to say more until Angela's branch is finished up in case inspiration strikes me between now and then. Any feedback on the story to help me judge how I'm doing is appreciated: comments, likes, and all the rest are very useful to figure out what I'm doing right and what I can improve on.
