Chapter 11 by Wulfblade Wulfblade

How to proceed?

Tyra triggers it

{If Tyra’s dispel magic uses left:=0}Tyra grunts in annoyance. ”I got no more Dispels left, there’s nothing left to do but walk on through.. I’ll go first, with any luck my armor will protect me from it.”{else}”I only got a limited amount of dispels, I cannot waste them on every suspicious rock. Let me go through first, with any luck my armor will protect me from the worst of it.”{endif} The dwarf steps up, takes a deep breath in anticipation, and marches through the plinths.

The orbs on either side glow brighter for a moment, then turn dull. The radiance is accompanied by an audible fizzle of arcane magic being activated.

All of a sudden, ripples spread across the exterior of Tyra’s armor, the material itself becoming wavey, before all of the plate transmutes into clear, liquid water, loudly splashing down at her feet as remnants drip down her torso. Similarly, all the steel and iron that made up her warhammer turn to water and splatter onto the stone floor, the wooden shaft at its center clattering to the ground as well, still emitting the light from Tyra’s light spell earlier.

”No! No no no nooo!” Tyra yells, flailing and grasping at herself, as if it would somehow restore her armor.

”My armor! What kind of foul magic... They ruined my armor! And my hammer!”

Diana rushes up, putting a hand on Tyra’s shoulder. ”Wh- at least you’re unharmed, right? And don’t forget, you still got your spells.”

Tyra lets out a bitter groan: ”I feel so naked.. Let’s.. let’s go find out what this damned room does. There better be some nice magic armor in the loot from this dungeon.

Tyra touches Diana’s longsword, which passed through the plinths unscathed as the trap had expended its magic. The blade now begins to radiate light, and in turn the wet wooden shaft of Tyra’s former hammer ceases to glow.
