Tyler, Heading back home

It had been a few days since news had dropped about a new virus spreading around and causing strange side effects. The news had been very vague about everything and information spread online had sounded ridiculous. Earlier this morning I had received a message from mom and sis that the virus had been confirmed in their neighborhood. With no concrete knowledge I had decided to leave his college campus for the weekend and see if everything was fine back home.

I got off the bus at the outskirts of the neighborhood. The place seemed like a completely different world now. Despite it being the middle of the day on a weekend, there was no one around and the place seemed to be almost deserted. I continued to walk down the blocks, heading towards my home, and keeping an eye out for anyone. It almost seemed like the whole area had been quarantined, but there had been no notice about that anywhere.

As I continued to stroll down the street I could feel a prickling sensation on my neck as though I was being watched. I tried to look around to see who was there, but I saw no one in the moment. The only thing I managed to catch was a strong stench that had begun to fill the air as I got deeper and deeper into the neighborhood. It was a foul musky scent that seemed to get stronger and stronger as I walked along. Thankfully I was only a block from my home.

I almost let out a sigh of relief as I neared home and the strange atmosphere would soon be over. The more I made my way through the empty, yet familiar streets. The more it felt like some sort of horror film. However, I was almost out of the clear when I suddenly saw a large blur of movement in my periphery heading right towards me.
