Two More Arrivals

Back at the ski lodge, Brian, with help from JJ and Mindy, was setting up the den for the party. JJ and Mindy worked on readjusting the furniture while Brian brought up a few folding tables from the basement. As Brian set up the table and left to grab glasses, bowls and plates for the food and drinks JJ and Mindy slid the main couch back out of the way. "Alright...and there we go, that should be enough room for everyone to get around without much hassle," JJ thought aloud as Mindy weakly nodded back and plopped herself down on the couch,

"Ah! Oh ew, this cushion's all wet," Mindy hissed out, almost looking green,

"Guess Nicole and Kenny didn't care for clean up," JJ muttered back as he grabbed the cushion and flipped it over, "That'll have to do for now," The jock shrugged as Mindy wiped her pants,

"Ugh, I so didn't need to have Nicole on my pants, gross," She grumbled out before letting her whole body shudder,

"Well, uh...that's not just Nicole, you know." JJ pointed out, his face struggling to hold in a laugh, "It's Kenny too if that helps you," He said with a snorting laugh,

"Oh fuck you, " Mindy shot back,

"What?" JJ innocently asked back, unable to stop smiling at his friend,

"Just because I want Kenny doesn't mean I want his and Nicole's...fuck juice on me," She snapped back, growing angrier by the second,

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," JJ finally said in sincerity, "I know you don't like the idea of them together at all, my bad for messing with you about it,"

Mindy took in a slow breath, "It's okay, I'm just...amped up right now, I don't know what's going to happen tonight when I talk to Ken." She whispered back as she heard Brian returning to the den,

"Just relax, don't drive yourself crazy, it's simple, just talk to him," JJ assured her right before Brian walked back into the room,

"Oh, sweet this looks like more than enough room," Brian smiled while looking between his friends, then back around the room, "Hey Mindy, want to do me a favor and head into the wreck room, we got surround sound control there, and you can hook up my phone for music. Just put it on random for now, might as well listen to something while we wait." Brian said as he reached into his pocket and handed his phone to Mindy.

As Mindy left the room, JJ headed towards the tables, helping Brian lay everything out, "So, you seemed pretty excited for this,"

"Totally man, I think you were right about Anna. I'm betting that this party could be the opening I'll need, or well, that'll she'll need." Brian replied with a smirk, "I mean I've done everything like you said, and she seems to have warmed up to me."

"She wasn't ever exactly cold," JJ chuckled back, "But...shit man, not trying to tell you your business, but have you given any thought to what comes after? Again, Anna's not loose like that, if something happens, it'll matter to her."

Brian let out a small sigh, "I know that, and I...I'm still thinking about it, okay? I'm just not very good in relationships, never have been,"

"Yeah, trust me I know, but you never tried to date a girl like Anna," JJ pointed out, Brian pursed his lips and shook his head slightly, either way, silently conceding his point. Suddenly they both heard the front door opening, "Shit that was fast," JJ muttered out looking at his watch, seeing it was only an hour since the trio left,

"Too fast, it'll take two hours at the fucking least, that's not them." Brian replied as he and JJ walked out of the den, "Rachel?" Brian immediately asked as he spotted his twenty-year-old blonde sister kicking off her boots,

"Brian? Oh, what are you doing up here?" Rachel asked back with a smile, unzipping her puffy jacket as a second woman behind her did the same,

"What am I doing-What the hell are you doing here? I asked dad for the lodge, and he lent it to me for the week," Brian retorted, bewildered why his older sister was even here at all,

"You asked?" Rachel asked back, "Dad's never here, and he never knows when I come up here." Rachel replied, "You can just hang your jacket up here Kai."

"Kailyn?" JJ suddenly asked, his eyes going wide with excitement,

Behind Rachel a tall, beautiful black woman took a few steps forward, her eyes just as wide, "JJ! Oh my god!" She exclaimed while running forward embracing him in a tight hug,

"Uh...friend of yours JJ?" Brian asked while both him and Rachel stared at the pair in confusion,

"Idiot, that's his sister," Rachel said with a roll of her eyes,

"Wait, what? You're sisters off at college," Brian replied while looking at JJ,

"Yeah, she's supposed to be, what are you doing up here Kai?" JJ asked as he pulled back from his sister,

"Rachel convinced me to come up here for a few days, just to relax and take a break from school...shit's so stressful James," Kailyn explained before smiling again and pulling JJ into another hug, "Fuck it's been like what, a year at this point?"

"Almost a year in a half, Kai," JJ replied with a smile, "It's so fucking good to see you again,"

"A few days?" Brian frowned while looking over at his sister, "Uh-uh, place if full; we got six people here already. Not adding two more...sorry JJ," Brian firmly said,

"Fuck that, she can have my room, I'll stay on the couch," JJ denied while walking over to the door, grabbing Kailyn's bags, "Here follow me," JJ said as he lead his sister towards the stairs, "You gotta tell me what's been going on, all mom and dad tell me is how your grades are," JJ said as the pair headed up the stairs to Brian's dismay,

"Why don't you do nice shit like that for me, huh Bry?" Rachel asked while walking over and ruffling her younger brothers hair,

"Stop it, Rach, I'm serious," Brian snapped out, "What are you doing here?"

Rachel let out a slightly annoyed sigh, "Yeah, it's nice to see you too," She sarcastically replied while Brian narrowed his eyes, "Fuck, okay, I wanted to come up here and spend a few days drinking and relaxing with my friend. What, am I gonna get in the way of you trying to screw someone?"

"Maybe you will because you never leave me the fuck alone!" Brian exclaimed in irritation,

"Because as your big sister it's my duty to annoy you," Rachel giggled back as she followed Brian into the den, "Ooooh, looks like someone is setting up a party hmmm?"

"Rachel, can't you just take Kailyn and leave?" Brian grumbled back,

"I could,' Rachel replied causing Brian's eyes to light up, "But I won't," She finished with a smile. Brian clenched his fists, Rachel always knew just how to fuck with him, and she was so good at it she even could do in unintentionally. "So six people...let me guess, JJ, Mindy, Nicole, Anna, and Kenny. Kenny's here right?" She asked with a little raise of her brow,

"Stop trying to hook up with him, it's weird," Brian grunted back,

"I took him to prom and didn't even kiss him, how do you see me trying to hook up with him?" Rachel merely asked back, "Maybe I want to hook up with JJ,"

"How about you don't hook up with any of my friends, huh? Better yet, why don't you head back to college and go fuck one of the frat guys," Brian retorted,

"No, frat guys are the worst...they're like you," Rachel giggled back, "Hmm, what about both of them? Think they'd want to have their friends sister together?" Rachel asked, completely tongue in cheek,

"Rachel!" Brian barked back, giving her the exact reaction she wanted,

"Okay, okay," She laughed, "I was just fucking with you," She continued to giggle, "But seriously, I'm not leaving so get over that."

"Fine, but two days, that's all." Brian grunted back with a sharp exhale,

"Nah, I'll stay as long as I want. Now I need to go find out my sleeping arrangement..." Rachel sighed, "Wonder who wants to bunk with me..."

Brian gritted his teeth, "Take my room!" He exclaimed causing Rachel to grin, once again getting what she wanted from her brother,

"Thanks, Bry, see you in a bit," She chimmed back as she walked over for her bags and grabbed them, walking up the stairs with a little flick of her hair.
