Two Hearts

Nadia stepped out cautiously. There was a whining noise that was unmistakable. Sweet.

“ALICE!”

Nadia ran to her side. The rain drenched them. Alice had been shot in the stomach and in the shoulder. Two red marks in her green sweater.

Alice turned her head. She was pale.

“N-Nadia… It’s raining…” Alice said. A weak smile.

“No! No! No! Alice! What happened?!” Alice cried.

Nadia held onto Alice’s hand. Weak. Cold.

“Y-You know… I-I wanted to have a shower with you…” Alice said weakly.

Nadia was in tears. Hysterics. No… no… please…

“The ambulance will come, don't worry…” Nadia said.

Alice squeezed Nadia’s hand, “You’re gonna be okay dove…”

Nadia leaned forward to kiss Alice. Alice kissed back. A second. A moment. A connection. Love.

Her hand relaxed. Alice’s eyes blanking out. Fixed. She had a smile on her face. Calm. Cool. Confident.

“No? No? No! Alice! Please!” Nadia hugged Alice.

Rain. Blood. Two hearts becoming one.
