While looking for people to invite into Katy's new home, Tom is nearly bowled over by two very distracted walkers, furiously tapping away on their smartphones. His presence barely registered, the two seem entirely too focused on what is in their hands.
"Did you catch that Jigglypuff over there?" the shorter of the two asks, his carrot red hair blazing in the sun.
"Yeah, that guy has perfect stats!" He high fives his friend, nearly knocking the baseball cap of his blond locks.
Tom wastes no time, and flags the two down. "Hey there! Didn't you see me? You nearly ran me over a moment ago!"
The players pause and look back in his direction. Mostly disinterested, they utter "Sorry" and return to their game.
"Wait! Guys, I might have something better than Pokemon for you to play..." Tom tries to tempt them.
They pause again, now turning around completely. "I don't know. We are pretty dedicated trainers. I'm level 40 already, and my friend here is just about at level 38. He's so close to leveling right now."
Tom rolls his eyes, but then an idea shoots through his brain. "What if I told you there was a real live... Porki... Picko..."
"Pikachu?!" The two boys light up quickly. "But we thought they were imaginary. You are yanking our chain."
"No seriously. A real live Pikacho is right there in that house." He points directly to Katy's front door. "Don't you want to see it?"
The two young men look at each other for a moment, trying to play it cool. But it is obvious to anyone that they have become really excited. "Okay, fine. We will check it out. But you better not be lying to us."
"Oh, don't worry. There is no way you are going to be disappointed by what you are about to see."
