Push it?
Twice.
The instant you heard him say he didn’t know what the second press did you decided you had to know. Just as fast as before you simply slap the button twice. Like trying to do a special move on a game you just double tap the button.
“It changes things. No one has ever won after the first press. It changes things.” His words repeat in your head. The stool and podium vanish. The tentacles are all there is as you are yanked down through the floor. The glow is all around you. They are still pulsating inside of you. Your eyelids grow heavy. You hear a distant voice counting down. “95, 94, 93…”. Your mind washes away into the glow. “It changes things.”
Your eyes snap open. Sunlight spills across your face. You shield your eyes with a perfectly manicured black nailed hand. “Oh, where am I?” You say quietly.
