Chapter 38
by Amagine
What's next?
Tutoring
You go to the library to meet up with Genevieve again. You've gotten a text that you're being paired up with your first client.
"Oh, Ryan," she says, as soon as you get there. "Hello, just give me a minute."
She starts typing on the laptop on her kiosk. Another girl who hasn't seen you yet is standing off to the side. Her jaw drops as she looks you up and down.
"Is everything okay?" You ask her.
"No it's just...uh," the girl blushes. "Tutors have a look, you know."
"Maybe it can be a shut-in nerd boy look, or it can be more like a Philosophy Professor look," you say.
Her blush fades as she considers what you're talking about, then realization dawns on her face. "Well, I guess that's fair."
Of course. Every girl on campus would know what you were talking about.
"Alright, I found her information," Genevieve says. "We have a student who has requested private tutoring right off the bat. Her name is Madison Albright."
{if Know Madison = 1}Oh no. No, it's a common name. Please for the love of God, you hope that you don't have your work that cut out for you.
Still, you have to ask. "Like...a blonde Madison? Model looking, sort of?"
Genevieve nods, and turns the computer to you. Madison looks absolutely stunning in her student photo of course. Most people don't, you know you don't. But this is Madison, and you can't even that she'd ever tolerate looking anything other than her best.
Well sounds like your first tutoring session is going to be immensely frustrating, but best get this show on the road. Since you are tutoring her privately, you head over to her dorm. {else}The name sounds vaguely familiar, but you can't recall where you've heard it. Still, you are given the number of her dorm and where it's located. So you head across campus to get there.{endif}
You knock on the dorm room door and wait patiently for Madison to answer the door. {if Know Madison = 1}You run through a game plan. There's got to be a way to get through to her, when she acts like...and the key word, you're convinced, is 'acts' like...she knows absolutely nothing. If not, you've got a real situation on your hands.{endif}
When the door opens, {if Know Madison = 1}Madison is standing there in a thin pink robe, she smiles at you.
"Oh my god, Ryan!" she says.{else}the blonde girl from your English and Math class is standing there. {endif}"Hi. Are you my tutor?"
{if Know Madison = 0}You calm yourself. Maybe she is not as dumb as she looks.
"Hello, I'm Ryan," you say as you hold up a hand to introduce yourself.
"I'm, like, Madison!"{endif}She lunges forward and hugs you. Lightly and briefly. "I'm so happy that you're my tutor!"
"It's really not a problem," you say, trying to ignore the sensation of her large breasts, oversized for her frame, pushing into you.
"Come on in!" She leads you into her room.
Madison's room is decorated with photos of her and other girls on a corkboard, a mirror on a desk in the back, and...small pink lamps hanging from the ceiling? That shouldn't be allowed, should it? There is a plush pink rug that is soft to step on and you're inclined to remove your shoes, so you do so. No textbooks or any kind of school supplies are visible. You glance to the separate bedroom and see a single, queen-sized bed with a photo of a pop star that you don't recognize over it. In fact, as you look around in other parts of the room, there are all kinds of female models and glamorous celebrity-looking women who you do not know the names of, off the top of your head.
"Where...does your roommate sleep?" you ask.
"Oh," she waves the question away, as if it's not a big deal. "I have a single."
A single? You'd heard that they existed, but that they were extremely expensive and exclusive. You're here alone with her...{if Philanderer < 2}there are all kinds of things that you could get up to. You'll play it cool for now, though.{else}
...No. Be proper and respectful! You are here as a tutor! Despite how temping it may be. Time to refocus on actually helping her.{endif}
"Okay," you say. "Which subject do you need help with again?"
"I think the worst is, like, Mister Ketchup's class. Math is totally hard."
You do call him that. But you're worried that she actually may think that's his name.
"Alright, then," you say, pulling out your own textbook. "Let's get started."
Madison is struggles from the start. And it's worse than you thought. She often struggles with whether a problem is supposed to be addition or multiplication. At times she will outright ask: "What does this symbol mean?" She does not seem to retain the answer, no matter how many times you tell her. Often, she will stare at the ceiling and loudly announce that she is bored. Sometimes in the middle of when you are explaining something to her.
It starts to become immensely frustrating. Something has to give.
What do you do?
