Before the Dark Knight could bellow another syllable, everything went blank. No senses, no voice, just an infinite void.

WELCOME ALICE.

The same feminine voice announced.

Bruce was assaulted by a thunderous array of colors. Wind rushed against his face. He wasn't wearing his cowl or Tetch's device! The Batman fell and fell through the tunnel, worry setting in. He'd trained his body and mind tirelessly to circumvent mind games like these. He wasn't truly falling down a crackling spiral of neon lights. No, none of this was real!

The breeze picked up as his body flung faster and faster. The end of the tunnel losing its hypnotic hues, exchanging its bright shades for darker, earthy tones.

Grass and trees started to materialize below. Just as quickly as the freefall started, it abruptly ended, throwing Bruce onto a soft patch of vibrant green grass. He tumbled, his body reacting instinctively, pulling himself up to a defensive stance. He looked around quickly, trying to take stock of his surroundings. He took a second to look himself over, finding he was wearing a cartoonish sky blue costume with a scribbled bat symbol on his chest. Miraculously, he was unharmed, reinforcing his belief that this was just a dream. One he desperately needed to wake up from.

The environment was eerily familiar: twisted trees with gnarly branches, shimmering pools of water, and bizarrely colored skies that shifted from hues of pink to cerulean. It was like something out of a children's story. That old Alice in Wonderland tale that Jervis Tetch was so morbidly obsessed with.

There were distorted pathways that led in every direction, each more baffling than the last. Oversized, peculiar plants emitted a gentle glow, illuminating the land in an otherworldly light.

"Welcome to Wonderland, Alice," a voice echoed, its tone playful yet chilling. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a flash of movement. It was a white rabbit, clothed in a waistcoat, tapping its large pocket watch impatiently. Great, a talking bunny.

"Tetch, show yourself!" he growled. "Let me out of here and I'll go and easy on you..."

_"Tsk tsk tsk, such a temper my dear Alice," came another voice, a wide-brimmed hat casting a shadow over its wearer's face. The Mad Hatter stepped into the light, his gaze sharp and calculating. "And here I thought you'd be ecstatic to be reunited with us again!"_

Bruce clenched his fists. "You won't keep me here, Jervis! And stop calling me Alice. I'm Batman!"

Batman swung at the Mad Hatter, only for the villain to dissipate into a flurry of roses.

The Mad Hatter chuckled from behind. "Oh, but I think you'll find Wonderland is not so easily left behind. You may be quite the fearsome fighter out there, but in here, I am the **** to be reckoned with."
