I gulped and felt beads of sweat starting to forming. My throat suddenly felt dry but I knew that I had to deal with this sooner or later. I took a deep breath and turned around.
"Hey...Sarah." I told her. I **** a smile, trying to look approachable. Sarah's hand went to her mouth and covered it.
"Oh my god! You're back!" she exclaimed. Sarah hesitantly walked up to me and stood there, seeming to wait for my permission. I nodded and opened my arms wide open. Sarah flew into my arms and we embraced. I savored the feeling of Sarah's warm body pressing against mine. I felt her heart beating wildly. I breathed in her scent and was happy to know that Sarah still uses that shampoo that I adore so much.
Eventually, we pulled back and Sarah had tears rolling down her cheek. She gave me a big grin. "It's nice that you're back. I'm sorry about high school." she hesitantly asked.
I was about to tell Sarah that it was alright but stopped when I saw something shine. I looked down at her hands and saw one thing.
An engagement ring.
Sarah saw my eyes looking down and looked down also. She looked at her ring and looked back at me with wide eyes.
