What happens next?
Trying to relax before the meeting
Dahl and I ordered another goat cheese and honey pizza like last evening. It didn't take long for it to be delivered and we started to eat. She was still nervous, understandably so, but was trying not to let it show too much.
"What do you think Marion wants to talk about?" I asked.
Dahl looked down. "I... have my suspicions, but I'll see if I'm correct tomorrow..."
"I'm sure you must be anxious about interacting with your daughter again, but wouldn't it be a good opportunity to see how she and her mother fare?"
She smiled weakly. "You're right... I could learn more about how they've been doing since I... disappeared..."
I yawned and got up after finishing my slices. "We walked quite a lot today, I'm exhausted. I'm glad I didn't wear heels."
Dahl giggled, relaxing slightly. "Indeed. Tomorrow, we should take it slow and rest until the meeting."
"Good idea." I replied, getting behind her and wrapping my arms around her neck. "We'll just stay in bed and cuddle all morning~"
Dahl got up and kissed me, smiling. "I love you, Yun~"
"I love you too~"
"I'll go take a shower, I'll be right back." She said before walking to the bathroom.
While Dahl left, I decided to call Claire. She should know that we arrived safely.
"Hi sis. How was the flight?" She asked as soon as she answered the call.
"It was quite fun and interesting. Sorry for not calling earlier, we've been busy touring London since we've landed."
"It's alright. How is it like?"
"Fascinating so far. We've been to the British Museum and visited a few parks Dahl loved. London is so different from the cities I've been to in the US. Without Dahl, I'd be completely lost."
"I'm glad to hear that you're having fun. And don't forget to bring me some souvenirs, okay?"
"I will, don't worry. I posted some pics on my Insta if you want to see how it's like, by the way. And you, how are you?"
She paused for a brief instant before speaking. "Well, I've been feeling a bit lonely since the two of you left, but I hung out with Laura briefly yesterday after work."
I chuckled. "She beat you at Mario Kart again?"
"But I beat her at Tekken, so it evens out." She replied with a giggle.
Claire has always been too shy to socialise with her colleagues at work, so she had a hard time getting friends when she moved with me. I was glad to see that she and Laura got along well. The two of them became good friends since Dahl and I told Laura the truth.
"Anyway, I hope I'll be able to come with you someday. Going on a holiday abroad together would be great." She said, a hint of disappointment in her tone.
"I'll make sure you can. Next time I go abroad, I'll bring you with me." I replied. "Dahl and I were thinking about visiting South Korea someday, it could be our next destination."
"Oh, really? I heard so many things about it. When I was still in high-school, there was this girl who was completely in love with K-Pop and Korean dramas."
"Heh, it's probably pretty different from how it's depicted in dramas, but we'll see. We're about to sleep now, so I wish you a good night, Claire."
"Good night, sis."
I smiled and hung up. Claire really got used to calling me 'sis' since I became Seo-Yun. But it made her happy and was a nice reminder of my femininity, so I didn't mind it.
"You were speaking with Claire?" Dahl asked as she returned, a dryer in hand and wearing a white bathrobe.
"Yeah, I figured it was time I call her. She's doing fine. She's feeling a bit lonely, but Laura is here to keep her company."
She giggled, sitting on the bed and plugging the dryer. "I'm glad they got so close. I'm sure Laura will be able to help Claire get out of her shell a little."
"Yeah, she's a good influence on her." I replied, giving her a kiss on her still wet lips.
I left Dahl and went to take a shower myself, the hot water doing wonders on my muscles sore from all this walking we did. Despite the surprise of Marion's message, it has been a very nice day.
I gleamed with happiness. I proposed to her... Now, there's no going back anymore. We'll stay together forever. She's mine, and I'm hers.
I was lost in thought as I washed myself, already fantasising about our future wedding, even if it wouldn't be before a while.
Hmm, should we both wear wedding dresses? Or maybe I could wear a suit? I know I'd look so hot in one~
I grinned, imagining myself wearing a black tuxedo, my hair tied into a low ponytail, as I played the role of the groom during the wedding. A man in the skin of a woman playing the role of a man, it sounded quite fun.
Knowing Dahl, she'll definitely want to wear a dress, so it could work. But we have ample time to plan it properly.
Once done with the shower and my daydreaming, I joined Dahl on the bed, laying next to her and snuggling her closer.
"You took your time, what were you doing?" She asked as she gave me another kiss.
I giggled. "I was fantasising about our wedding."
At that, she blushed, taken aback. "Already? You just proposed to me this morning and you're already planning that far ahead?"
"Why not? Is it bad to daydream about what will be the best day of our lives?"
She smiled sheepishly. "You're right. How do you picture it, if I may ask?"
I grinned, kissing her again. "You in a sumptuous wedding dress and me in an elegant tuxedo, kissing in front of our families and friends and exchanging our vows~"
She rested her head on my shoulder, a peaceful look on her face. "It sounds wonderful~ You'd be so beautiful in a tuxedo..."
"Of course~"
The two of us stayed like this for a moment in complete silence, until Dahl spoke. "Thank you, Yun. You really know how to cheer me up."
"It's my job as your future wife to make sure you're happy, right~?"
"Yeah."
We kissed one more time and turned off the light, ready to fall asleep in each other's embrace.
Despite my bravado, I was actually a bit nervous about meeting Dahl's daughter myself, especially since she was apparently a fan of mine. I truly hoped everything would go well. I closed my eyes and sent a prayer to whatever god existed as I fell asleep.
What happens the next day?
