Trying new suits

Standing outside of the washroom with a night coat on and slippers, Reed tapped his foot patiently as he waited for his wife to finish.

“Honey? Are you okay in there?”

“Just fine sweetheart, hair’s just taking a bit of time.”

Shrugging, Reed waited longer for his chance to get cleaned up and head to bed, wondering just what was taking so long.

Turning her head back and forth, Susan could not believe the face, or lack there of looking back at her. The only thing she had to go on were the black rimmed ovals where her eyes would be squinting back at her, making the same wide-eyed expression as if she were surprised. Feeling up the smooth surface of where her face would be, one of her eyes squinted in confusion before they both went wide after she gasped.

“This… This is the Anti-Venom symbiote!”

Feeling herself over, she worried she might do something terrible… Spider-Man had warned her about the symbiotes. How they would twist you up from within, feed off your worst impulses and try to take you over. From how he explained the Venom symbiote, it had to have been a nightmare for him.

But she didn’t feel any different save a sweet tooth still demanding she finish up her stash of chocolate above the fridge and the rest of the cake. In the few minutes she had calmed down, Susan had given herself a look over, realising she hadn’t taken a breath since the symbiote enveloped her body. Bringing a hand to her throat, she wasn’t taking in air, and yet she didn’t feel like she was suffocating. She tried to take in a deep gasp of air, but nothing happened.

“How do you even breath in this thing?”

Instantly the white fluid pulled away from her face, letting her blonde hair cascade down her shoulders and back as the suit seemed to pull away as far as her neckline and stop there. Breathing in sharply through her nose and exhaling through her mouth, she didn’t feel any different. Looking down at the rest of herself the suit remained as it was after her little question. Looking down at her forearm, she pinched at her wrist and tugged slight, finding the substance was like a second skin to her. Even hurting a bit until she let go and the substance snapped back into place.

“Huh…” Looking back at her reflection, she liked how it clung to her contours like her Fantastic Four costume, it even had the benefit of not showing any buttons or zippers. Like it was all one piece. “I like the look, but shame it covers up my face like some kind of fetish wear… I did like the eyes though.”

Just as quickly as she made the statement, the suit moved up her neck and gave her a domino mask to cover her eyes and leave the rest of her face and hair untouched, making the woman grin.

“Ooooh, I LIKE this!” Posing back and forth, flipping her blonde hair, and giving her reflection a pouting smile before blowing herself a kiss, she smiled and stepped back to give herself a full look over. Liking the overall look. “Shame you can’t be more conspicuous. I can’t walk around looking like I’m wearing a spandex leotard.”

Immediately the suit pulled away and changed, taking on the appearance of the clothes she wore prior to her shower. Taken back in surprise, Susan rubbed her thumb and finger over the fabric of her sweater and then her denim pants, finding it mimicked it perfectly. Suddenly the possibilities raced through her mind as she wrung her hands just under her chin.

“How about my wedding gown?”

The jeans and blue sweater melted away and took the form of a beautiful white silken wedding dress with sky blue highlights and flowers woven into the seams.

“That dress I wore to the club ten years ago. That girls night with Greer and Jennifer.”

The wedding gown then became ocean blue and clung to her perfect figure again, becoming a racy cocktail dress that showed off her legs and back in high heels and matching diamond jewelry. Turning and admiring its mint splendor, the dress looked brand new.

“The bathing suit I wore for our vacation! The Foundation suit I wore for a while! My suit with the four as a cleavage window! That dress Namor tried to bribe me with to leave Reed! My dress when I visited the Inhumans! OOH! OOH! How about that one dress in the shop window of that tailor at 6th avenue?”

Immediately Susan found herself in an elegant business dress that went down to the knee with matching shoes and pearl jewelry and earrings. The Inner blouse and tie were a lighter blue and looked to be made of a combination of silk, cotton and linen that felt delightful to the touch. She would never DARE buy the suit, knowing it cost as much as a vacation to some tropical island. Looking herself over, Susan tapped at her lip with her finger, her face screwed in thought.

“Hmm… Something’s missing…”

Eyeliner, lipstick, rouge, and blue nail polish appeared on her well manicured fingernails, along with an ocean blue broach inlaid with small pearls appeared and accented the tie and jewelry she wore. Wringing her hands and jumping from one foot to the other in excitement, Susan was beside herself with glee, her smile threatening to reach ear to ear.

“EEEEEEEEEEEE! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!”

Hearing a knock at the door behind her, Susan blushed when she just realised how much time she had spent trying on different clothes while her husband was outside.

Opening the door and scratching her blonde hair with her fingers, Susan pretended to yawn as she stepped out of the bathroom in a pair of white pajamas.

“Sorry Reed, got carried away.”

“DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT!” Reed winced, practically jumping into the bathroom, where the door slammed shut and a minute later the woman heard the man sigh in relief and the toilet flush.

Looking down at her new nightwear, Susan’s grin never left her lips.

“You know what? I just might keep you…”
