Try to find a light

You can’t see anything, and it will take your eyes a minute to adjust. You hold your towel and squint.

“Amy? Anyone?” It’s frustration. “I can’t see anything,” you add. “Is anyone up here?” You raise your voice a bit, but nobody replies to you.

That’s odd. You were sure that Amy had come up here, but maybe not. After all, if she saw something that bothered her outside the second floor window, the easiest way to get outside would be from the balcony in Olivia’s room. It’s the house’s only balcony, but you could totally climb onto those lower roofs from there, now that you’re thinking about it.

That’s probably where Amy would’ve gone.

So someone else probably came up here. But who? You heard that the initiation had something to do with hiding. Maybe Rey and Delilah tried to hide up here? Maybe Rey’s still up here, not realizing that the initiation is over.

“Rey?” you say uncertainly, reaching out and feeling with your free hand. Your other one has to hold your towel. “Come on, is there not a flashlight or something? A freaking glow stick? Ugh.” You’re kind of pissed, but you’re sure someone else is up here with you. They must be fucking with you.

There’s a click, and a sudden light. You grin and turn to see who it is, only to see someone holding a flashlight under her chin, pointing it up. You see a dark figure and a mask like a peach emoji, right in front of you.

The flashlight partly blinds you, and the spooky face terrifies you. You feel total confusion and sudden panic. You see stars in your eyes and this scary person.

How to react?

Flinch away, stumble back the way you came?

There’s a passage to your right, but it’s dark. Run into the dark?

Or stand your ground and ask who the hell this joker is?
