Try to figure out the funny feeling.

Chapter by Nenen

This tingly feeling was bothering you quite a bit. It’s just… too distracting. How did Shiro deal with it? Or rather, what even is this feeling? Unlike previous times, Shiro didn’t answer your questions. You assume you either weren’t specific enough or maybe… maybe she doesn’t know it herself. That would be weird, how wouldn’t she notice this? Sure it fades into the background somewhat but it is clearly there for you. Never felt anything like it before after all.

…

She doesn’t realize it is there. You noticed it immediately after experiencing it once, but what if… she always experienced it, ever since she was born? It could be the explanation. Then… just what is this tingly feeling? Is it the energy Pokémon use to do moves? ‘No’. Oh. “Uhh… thanks again Shiro?” Given her answer this tingly feeling isn’t something related to moves. Maybe it is something natural for her. To Meowscaradas maybe. “Hmmm… Shiro clearly wants to be a magician, but she somehow isn’t able to perform magic like her Papa and Grandpapa… or her Mama.” You’re not sure why you refer to them that way, but you guess it is just natural for this body. “Natural… maybe this tingly feeling around me and inside this body… is magic?” It is worth a try. You get ready to try out doing magic when you realize… you have no idea what to do. You felt a bit cold again and shivered. Okay, you’ll put on clothes first, then search for how to do magic.

Searching through her wardrobe you found some nice simple clothes. A pair of panties that fit nicely on your new rear. A bra that you just knew how to use somehow, and that it kept your breasts in place. A dark purple skirt that reached to your knees, a light blue shirt and dark green sweater. Accompanying that was a pair of long dark blue socks, and a headband that you thought would look okay on Shiro, and made two bangs of hair fall over her facemask to her chin. When you went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror you couldn’t help but gasp. There, standing in front of you, was a very pretty and very cute girl whose body wasn’t fully revealed, but whose proportions were shown enough to show she was quite curvy. “Is this me?” You said as you brought a hand to your reflection. You looked at this girl, this very pretty, very cute, and shy girl and felt your heart skip a beat. You saw her face blush, which made your heart skip another beat as you turned away from the mirror. “I-I’m not here for admiring. Sure Shiro is super cute and pretty, but I ain’t here to gawk at her. I’m here to help her with magic.” You pump your arms and then head over to her room.

You’re not sure where to start learning magic, but you figure those notebooks she has could be of use. You pull them both out of the trash can, making a few crumbled papers fall that you pick up and leave back in. Opening the first notebook you’re greeted by what seems to be tips and tricks on how to put on a show. The way to move, of speaking, of presenting yourself and when is the right moment to perform tricks. There were also some sleight of hand that could be used at the start of a show according to the book. You tried to do them and found them rather easy. Guess Shiro practiced them a lot. The notebook kept on going on how to perform a good act, when was a good hour of the day to do so, which places were the most likely to have a willing audience and how long the shows should go. While all interesting, you’re sure Shiro knows all about this by now, so you set it down on her bed and pick the other one. This notebook actually starts with a very loose explanation of what magic is. According to the notebook, magic is “The tool Magicians use to bring smiles to the people via the strength of their hearts.” Strength of their hearts… the tingly feeling you have course through all your body, but it seems to originate on the chest, where the heart would be. You kept on reading. “First rule of magic: Do not reveal your secrets.” Sounds fair. “Second rule of magic: do not use your magic for illicit performances. Always ask for permission to perform.” Again, also fair. If you were to go and try to perform anywhere you’re likely to be chased out by whoever owns the place. “Third rule of magic: Always ensure to bring a smile to people’s hearts… Fourth rule of magic: do not use your magic to hurt the innocent… Rule five of magic: Always believe in yourself.” That’s the last one. It is marked in a big circle with lines under it. The page it is on also has more wear than the rest, having more evident lines for where it was bent and feeling softer than the others. Shiro must have spent a lot of time looking at this one for encouragement.

You sigh. You really, really feel for this girl. Hopefully she will be able to stand with her head high and proud soon. You keep reading the notebook. “The first trick is always the easiest one. Just make the paper slip disappear and then make it reappear in your hand after showing both palms.” Seems to be the trick she tried to do first. You think you’ll try to do it like she did. First, grab a piece of paper, show both sides of it. “Nothing on this side, nothing on the other.” Then put your palms together fully covering it. You closed your eyes, trying to get a feeling for this flowing feeling in you. You concentrated on it, imagining yourself guiding it to the paper. ‘Make it vanish.’ You say in your mind and feel a tingle in your chest. Then, you open your eyes and pull your palms apart. “Prestooo… ehehehehe, that’s a little embarrassing.” You look around for the piece of paper, but can’t seem to find it. Maybe it fell behind something? You spent 15 minutes searching before giving up. You were about to accept it as a failure when a thought crossed your mind. It couldn’t have just… worked on the first try, could it?

Fifth rule of magic: Always believe in yourself.

Those words resounded in your mind. You look at your hand and close it. You close your eyes again and concentrate on the feeling within you. Guiding it to where you want it to be. ‘Make the paper appear’. You open your eyes and then open your palm. Your eyes grow wide as you’re left with your mouth open. There, in your hand, is the piece of paper you were looking for. “It… i-it certainly wasn't there before. Was it?” You don’t hear Shiro's mental voice this time. You look at the paper again, turn it around again and place it between your palms once more. Just like before you concentrate, and will the feeling inside you make the paper disappear. You open your arms wide, and just like last time the paper isn't there. This time you extend your arms forward. “Nothing in my palms, nothing in these sleeves. Now, watch the paper appear again.” You do the same as before, closing your eyes and telling this feeling to make the paper reappear. Then, you place your palms facing upwards. You open the hand that you didn’t want anything of. It’s empty. Then, you open your right hand… and the paper is there again. You smile wide, a rush of giddiness going all around you. “PRESTO!!” You scream happily, jumping in the air a few times. “I can do magic! I can do magic!!” You can’t believe it. Magic is real! And you can do it! “Or rather Shiro can do it. Oh right! Shiro!” You gotta tell her about this somehow. She must know that she’s able to do magic, she deserves to know that she can do magic. That she’s not a failure. You look around for anything that could work. The notebooks? You don’t think they’ll work, given that she had thrown them in the trash. The computer? You don’t really know her password to write something there. You look in her drawer and find something curious. A cassette recorder, the type that can be carried in a single hand. It has a cassette inside. You rewind it and let it play, only to find that it is empty. This will work.

“Hi Shiro! This is…” Crud, what do you say? You already started too! “... your other you, from the other side of the looking glass. Shirou.” You just blurted out the first thing that came to mind, which apparently was Alaice in Wonderland. To be fair though, it seems like it fits. “I’m here to tell you a single truth. You, Shiro, are indeed able to do magic. And I’ll tell you how. First, you must recognize this feeling within you, flowing through you. That… is your magic.” You continue on trying to describe as good as possible how to recognize said feeling and how to perform the paper trick properly and then end recording. You take the cassette out and put a sticky note on top of it.

[From the other you, Shirou.]

Hopefully this will be enough. Though you’ll probably stick around a bit to see how she does. You leave it on her desk, in a place where she clearly can see it, then you lay her body down and will yourself out of it. The sensations you had start to fade until you feel only weightlessness and freedom. Looking down Shiro is sleeping, but appears to wake up soon.

“Mmm? Did I change clothes before I fell asleep?” She doesn’t seem to remember anything you did. She looks around and then spots the tape. She takes it carefully and looks at it. She then checks her windows, the windows of her whole house, every door, every exit. Until she returns to her room, convinced that no one got in while she slept. “[From the other you, Shirou]? What… what is this?” You see her as she looks in her drawer for a cassette player and puts the cassette in. Makes sense she would have one if she has a tape recorder.

“Hello Shiro! this is.. your other you, from the other side of the looking glass. Shirou.”

The tape plays as she listens intently. The question is… how will she react?

Suggestions:

•She doesn't believe it at first, wanting more proof that this isn't a prank.

•She tries it out, and sees it works out. Soon asking for more tapes on advice.

•She dismisses it, not believing something so good would happen to her.

Something else.
