Try and turn his power off

Ben thought for a moment and closed his eyes. Turning his thoughts inward, he reached inside himself and did all he could to not think sexy thoughts. After a moment, he peeked up at Jean again. She was breathing heavily, her pupils dilated. Ben thought again, and focused this time on shutting off his 'aura', as she'd called it. After a few moments, with a grunt of effort, he felt something click inside of himself. Jean let out a small, relieved sound and nodded her thanks to him. Ben just sat in the copilots seat, looking out the window, for the rest of the plane ride.

Ben contemplated the change inside of himself for a moment. Now that he was focusing, he could definitely feel his own power. And it was still active, not turned off at all like he'd wanted. But... restrained, stuck behind his skin, focused on his body. It wasn't that he'd turned his power off, he realized. It was that he focused his power on himself, which had the effect of shutting Jean out of his head.

In what seemed like no time at all, they arrived at a very nice, very large mansion. Kitty went up to Ben and pointed him where he needed to go. The two walked through the front door and through the mansion before walking into an office.

Sitting in a wheelchair in front of them was a bald man with bright blue eyes. "Greetings." he said. "I am Professor Charles Xavier, and welcome to my school Mr. Goldenry. I surmise that you have many questions."

Kitty let herself out, and Ben settled down for a chat with the professor. After a long conversation, Ben was enrolled at the Xavier Institute. "The first thing that should be done is a test of your powers." Professor Xavier said. "We needed to know the full extent of them to best know how to teach you control."

Ben followed the hastily moving wheelchair into a room dubbed 'The Danger Room'. "Mr. Goldenry, we have a few volunteers to help you gauge your power. Do you have any preference?"
