Try and grab it through the holes

Maki's phone wasn't too far away from the chain link fence and the holes in the fence were big enough that her hands could easily slip through grab her phone.

Maki then got on her hands and knees before putting her right hand through, however, she was barely out of reach when her elbow stopped her from going any further.

'Damn it.' Maki grunted under her breath before putting her other hand through the hole next to the one her right hand went through.

Her left hand got much closer and Maki was able to touch her phone with the tip of her fingertips. If she moved her fingers just right then she could pull it towards her.
