Chapter 3 by hewhoismany hewhoismany

What Task are you up for first?

Try an anime

It’s funny that one of the options is to Try an anime. You actually really loved anime back in junior high, after a childhood of seeing quite a few on television without realizing what they were. But with high school came less free time and a new social stigma against ‘weird cartoons’. So you slowly stopped what had once been a passion for you.

Unsure of what exactly is around these days, you just pull up a streaming site on your computer and look around what’s popular. Hmm...something about sins? No. Something about demons? No. Oh, hey, there’s a superhero one, and you think you’ve heard about it before. Why not give that a try?

That is how it begins. You start one episode, and it’s pretty good. You go to the next, and like it even more. Soon, you’re on the edge of the bed, laptop sitting on your knees, excited for every new scene. This is so good! Why did you ever stop watching anime?!

You decide to take a break after finishing the entire first season, and then remember you should click on the app to let it know you did the thing. You do, and then it shows a new Task that says Binge an anime. You did technically do that, and so you click on it as well. Combined, they have a big effect on your stats.

Culture 0->2

Intelligence 32->34

Nerdiness 19->32

The effects of that last one take effect, even if you don’t realize it right now. The little bit of muscle you’ve managed to keep on from lightly exercising on occasion disappears, leaving you a complete bean pole. Not only that, but the clothes you’re wearing change, with your blouse becoming a referential t-shirt and your panties becoming more plain and boring. If you were to talk, you’d also notice something more nasal about your voice.

There’s another new Task now, Join an online fandom. That sounds interesting...should you really do it though?

What will you do next?
