You look at the two women thoughtfully, taking a pull on your beer as you consider your reply.

"He said there were too many namby-pamby educationalists here. With more theories than experience, doing more damage than good. He thought a Marine as Dean of Students could instil some discipline and head off some of the more dangerous behaviour.

"Namby-pamby educationalists," Lorri snorts. "Well he's got a point. Those essays that girls had to write when they got in trouble were the dumb-ass idea to end dumb-ass ideas. Not sure how the Mommies and Daddies are going to feel about having their princess' ass tanned though. I see trouble coming. Your old CO, he the type to back your play? or will he leave you hanging?"

"He'll back me. At least on this."

"What else did he say?" Donna asks."Did he talk about specific teachers?"

"Not really. He said there had been some trouble here last year with some teachers fired and students expelled."

Donna and Lorri look at each other for a moment, then look back at you.

"He say what kind of trouble?" Lorri asks.

"Not really. He said there had been an investigation but the results were confidential. One of the things that came out of that was hiring a few men." You look at the two women, noting the glances that passed between them.

"So what happened?" you ask. "And what about this girl who got killed?"
