Trust issues

“Call that dominance if you wish,” Wonder Woman says across the table, “But trust? Just because you fed me an admittedly-exceptional cheeseburger doesn’t mean I trust you.”

You spread you hands, “I have been completely honest with you since the moment we met.”

“You attacked me, kidnapped me, sexually assaulted me, poisoned me…”

“Have I ever lied to you? Or done anything other than exactly what I said I would do?”

“Technically no,” she concedes. “But that hardly makes you a pillar of integrity!”

“You’re still not listening.” You stand and circle around the table until you’re standing beside her chair. “Everything we've done here has been actually been pretty tame. I could’ve hurt you far worse with very little effort, wouldn’t you agree?”

“I suppose so,” she says looking up at you.

“Or humiliated you for days on end.”

She says nothing, still glaring daggers at you..

You lean down close to her face. “Or if all I wanted was sex I could’ve taken that from you five minutes after we met, right?”

A shadow of uncertainty passes over her face, as if she expected you to do exactly that and doesn’t get why you didn’t. “I suppose so.”

You lean in closer until your mouth is an inch from her ear. “You know so. But neither of those is what you need.”

“You said what I want is irrelevant.”

“Correct. But there are wants and there are needs. And they’re two very different things.”

If she recognizes the song reference, she ignores it. “And you think you know what I need?”

“I think your body knows what you need. I just happen to be pretty good at recognizing what your body is trying to tell you.” You run your fingers lightly over her bare shoulder, her involuntary reaction illustrating your point. “The fact that you can’t lie to yourself helps of course.”

The beautiful heroine turns her head away from you and ponders that.

You run your hand down her arm, “When we first met, you admitted that me tying you up excited you and that part of you wanted to know what it would be like to completely surrender control to someone else. And in the restaurant, you said you were interested in exploring those feelings.”

“With someone I trust!” she insists.

Your hand slides around to the small of her back. “And you were right, but not in the way you think. Being with someone you trust to only go as far as you want them to won’t get you there. What will do it is someone who will give you what you need.”

Diana opens her mouth to say something, hesitates, and closes it again.

Your hand slides up her back while your other hand pulls her dark hair aside and over one shoulder, exposing her neck. “Everything I’ve done since we met has been for the goal of getting you to embrace those feelings, to completely let yourself go, to be completely dominated by someone who will take you to the depth of surrender and the heights of pleasure.” You run your fingers over the base of her neck.

“Don’t pretend you don’t enjoy it!”

Your smile is only slightly patronizing. “Of course I enjoy it; that’s how sex is supposed to work! And I wouldn’t be very good at this if I wasn’t into it!” She turns to meet your gaze, and you can see the uncertainty in her eyes.

“People talk about trust like it’s a moral judgement, but that’s all wrong. It’s about predictability. You trust that someone will behave how you expect them to. That they’ll do things you expect them to do.” She tries not to show it but you can tell back of her neck is slightly ticklish.

“That’s not…” she starts but trails off.

“I’m going to ask you a question. And I don’t want you to answer it out loud, but I want you to think seriously about it.” Your fingers run through her hair. “Do you trust that I will dominate you and control you and introduce you to sexual joys you have never experienced? Even if it means going further than you think you want?”

Wonder Woman says nothing, but you see the answer in her eyes.
