Trouble in the citadel

"Then tell me! Tell me why. Why do you look so sad? Why do you stay here? Why? WHY?!"

Startled by your sudden change in demeanour she pauses. That's when you hear it. The sound of fighting.

"Time is up." The dark lord calls you.

Yet you do not move.

"Come!" his patience wearing thin.

Your skin starts to burn.

Seemingly resigned to her fate you hear Lucinda. "It's time for you to leave, little mouse." she turns away.

"I'm not going an-"

Before you could finish you are forcibly ripped back to the dark lord's side.

"where.." you notice what happened. "For fuck sake!"

"When I call you, you come!" the dark lord snaps.

Visibly angered you scowl at the dark lord.

"You may not go back to the cathedral without my blessing, the barrier will kill you."

"Let me back." you say coldly.

"Certainly... For a price"

If you could see the dark lords face, you would bet that he is smiling ear to ear for getting even with you.

"I see... What do you want?"

"A party of heroes has breached the barrier to the citadel. Dispose of them."

Glaring at the dark lord, not saying another word you beat your wings and take to the sky. Closing your eyes you begin to hear and see where the commotion is. Three Elves, two Dwarves and five Humans. Quite a large assault, you can see why you are needed. The heroes are laying waste to everything they come across. Goblins, orcs, trolls and even the ogres don't stand a chance.

The two dwarves, clad in steel from head to toe, a large shield and a mace covered in what is left of the front line of defence are at the forefront. The three Elves wearing leather armour with white ashen bows stand in the middle picking off stragglers who get around the Dwarves. The Humans are draped in a different assortment of robes, two in white chanting and healing those of the party to sustain an injury, the one in red shooting fireballs at large groups of goblins destroying them, the one in blue arcing bolts of lightning at larger foes, taking down ogres and orcs and lastly the one in green who is seemingly doing nothing. Odd.

"This is why I was interrupted?" you sigh.

The battle is not going well for the dark lord's forces. These heroes are experienced. They came with a plan and are executing it perfectly. Of course, it doesn't help that goblins and orcs are dumber than a stick. Focussing on the stalwart Dwarves and ignoring the Human mages in the back who are doing all the damage.

Flying down you strike the earth like a comet from the heavens, grabbing the attention of all on the battlefield.

Out of the dust, you begin to walking slowly towards the battle.

"I was having a good day... I was talking to a lovely woman..."

Everyone around can hear you and are just as confused.

"I had other plans today..."

Nobody knows who you are. Nobody knows where you came from and nobody seems to care.

"This was NOT what I wanted to be doing."

An ogre, angry that you interrupted him swings his meaty fist at you.

One flick of your tail and he is ripped to pieces.

"But now that I am here..."

Your golden eyes turn red and glow as if on fire.

"I'm going to kill you all!"
