TRIBES

Each Uratha werewolf belongs to a much larger nation than their own pack. Some are trained warriors, while others prefer the power of politics and persuasion. Werewolves rarely associate openly through these means, but they provide a common ground of understanding. While the Auspices are the link between werewolves and their over-mother Luna, the tribes are a commitment to the First Pack, and the individual wolves of that pack.

The supposed firstborn and known strongest of the First Pack was Fenris-Ur, the warrior of Father Wolf?s pups. He was the first to leap into any fray and the last to leave it, blood and spittle covering him almost constantly. His progeny has brought the Blood Talon tribe, trained warriors who fight with ferocity and sing about their exploits later. Seeing a Blood Talon is to be in the presence of a honed individual who seeks martial perfection. Many are large and powerfully muscled, even in werewolf standards, and to a lesser degree they are wiry and quick. In any case, they are in exceptional shape. The Blood Talons follow the tenets of Luna?s Glory, and they grant the powers of inspiration, strength, and rage.

Kamduis-Ur was a werewolf of exceptional ambition and wisdom, kept innocent by her great naivety. She followed all things that were a mystery to her, and when the answers eluded her, she asked for guidance. In the time following Father Wolf?s ****, nubile werewolves possessed with the love of knowledge came to **** Wolf for advice. She gladly gave it to them, creating the Bone Shadow tribe following. Any one Bone Shadow tends to be wiry, perhaps even gaunt, but never weak. For some reason, they tend to have darker hair shades in their lupine forms, but their Hishu forms bear any range of coloration. They tend to be very enigmatic with other werewolves, covering themselves in ?lucky? charms to ward off evil spirits and bad luck. A Bone Shadow has the renown for Luna?s Wisdom and has aptitude for the gifts of ****, warding, and insight.

Black Wolf, Hikaon-Ur, was the most secretive of Father Wolf?s children. He guarded the pack whilst it slept, found the nocturnal trails, and hunted without impediment in the dark. A Hunter in Darkness is one who follows in Hikaon?s footsteps, bearing respect for stalking, nature, and the elements. Of Luna?s renown he bears a sigil of Purity, attempting to remain in balance with the world that Pangaea has become, and return it to what it used to be.

Father Wolf?s most manipulative and dreaming child was Sagrim-Ur, the Red Wolf. He wished to know how everything worked so that he could change things and watch as the rigid order and balance of Pangaea evolved. Change and adaptation were his obsessions, and when Father Wolf was laid out, gasping for his last breaths and still raging, Red Wolf could not but think of how the world would change after this latest event. The Iron Masters, who embrace the tempest of humanity?s rule on the world, seek to reign over the humans behind the scenes when they conquer all, taking what they need and keeping that power in check. A werewolf that actually keeps up with the ?normal? world around them is most likely to submit to the ideals of the Iron Master. Any Iron Master stands rigidly by Luna?s Cunning, and is granted powers of knowledge, shaping, and technology.

When Father Wolf was slain, Fenris asked the next eldest of his pack to forgive him of his crime. Skolis-Ur, an empathic and passionate werewolf, was emotionally and spiritually torn asunder by the **** of his father. He hated his brothers, but he more than anything grieved the loss of his father. In a state of desperation, Skolis, the Winter Wolf, gave out a great howl, terrifying his pack brothers and sisters. When he noticed the effect of his mournful howl on his siblings, he quickly regained composure and calmed them, lending his strength to them as any sibling should. He then claimed that any leader should do what is required of him and bear his burden with strength and wisdom, knowing that reward itself was merely an illusion. The Storm Lords are the werewolves who follow Skolis?s vision of leadership and power, and follow rigidly the tenets of honor. They have a strong affinity for gifts of dominance, evasion, and weather.

It is possible for a werewolf to decline a tribal joining, and this makes them much like a person who hasn?t received a driver?s license. The other werewolves pity this individual, the one who seeks nothing other than solitude and peace, and only finding solitude. A werewolf with no tribe is simply called a Ghost Wolf, and has no renown for tribal affiliation. They can have any random set of gifts, however.
