Chapter 15 by Stalagg Stalagg

Which Promotion do you choose?

Treasure Skulker

You were a sneaky one as it was and Skulker struck you as being a logical next step in your progression. You got the drop on a Half-Orc Ranger so that was a good indication of your stealthy instincts. Reaching out you pressed the first option and you watched your Promotion screen changed. The SKULKER text dissolved and it replaced your Goblin status. Your stats began to change as well as your skills and perks. Before you could properly examine that change however you felt your stomach lurch and you gave a grunt of surprise. You felt your bones stretching and your joints popping as they grew in length. Tani watched in quiet shock as her **** shifted and transformed over her still form. Your shifted and stretched as you felt your strength being distributed throughout your new form.

When it finally subsided you let out a cackle of relief. Hey some things roared and others shouted, you laughed and why wouldn't you? You were the first Treasure Goblin to have been promoted before so why not enjoy it?

Tani could see you had grown taller by about a foot and your limbs were definitely longer then they were previously. The armor you had looted from Faldin had stretched to accommodate your size change thankfully and you were certain that would come in handy for later. You opened your stat screen again to see what has changed and you noted several new skills in addition to your old ones.

Treasure Skulker
Level: 10
Health: 400/400 - 300
Melee Attack: 25 - 15
Ranged Attack: 13
Weaknesses: Frost, Fire, and Traps
Special Abilities:
Thorough Looter: Can interact with items in the world. Can loot any corpse. Hero corpses are persistent until looted fully.
Treasure Goblin Sack: Whenever you take damage a random amount of treasure is dropped from your sack.
Item Snatcher: Every basic attack steals a targeted enemy's equipped item, weapon, or armor piece.
Hand-Me-Downs: Can equip weapons and armor. Non Treasure Goblin items possess reduced stats.
Skulker: Foot steps no longer create noise. 30% chance of critical damage occurring in basic attacks. 100% critical damage upon unaware enemies.

Well...that didn't go like what you were planning. You just became much less effective in a fight now and you lost what edge you had before. Although the new skill seemed promising. Perhaps this was better for your success. Being loud and in your face wasn't your thing anyway. Now you were even deadlier now you had benefits to moving unseen.

You looked down towards your prize before smirking. Time to address her.

Time to head home?
