Transoformative Diseases: Cowpox

Jenner studied his notes frantically, stumbling over his research desk and cross referencing previous subjects data with the new breakthrough. He had been tracking the cowpox virus as it spread its way through the English countryside, ravaging the land.

The cowpox virus was a rather odd infection, since it was one of the rare diseases that could be spread between animals and humans and vice versa. The symptoms were relatively mild but often if left unattended caused disastrous effects. The disease was mostly found in farmers and milk maids that spent most of their time around livestock, but was incredibly contagious as the symptoms progressed. In animals, they developed black and white splotches and some cases developed fully working udders. In cows and bulls, they would experience increased genitals and udders as well as productivity. However ingesting milk from an infected cow would often spread the virus, such was the outbreak of 1787.

Once contracting cowpox the affected would develop black and white splotches across their skin, these are the first symptoms of cowpox. As the virus takes hold within the body more side effects become apparent. In females a noticeable increase in the victims mammary tissue would become very apparent, as well as involuntary lactation and and inflammation of the milk ducts. Females would also develop larger and wider hips and posteriors. In males, cases varied in that some developed increased size and productivity of their gonads and length of their penis.

Oddly enough, while the changes for female infected were nearly universal, the males infected with cowpox had three different stage two alterations. The most common symptom with males was an increase of masculine traits, along with the black splotches. They developed stronger musculature, larger genitals and some cases long sturdy forward protruding horns. (those with horns usually led to a stage three male alteration) The second most common symptom with males was a complete gender transformation wherein they would progress along the normal route of the female second stage alteration. The third but most rare symptom that affected males was a combination of both male and female stage two alterations, resulting in a hermaphroditic amalgam that retained a more outward female appearance.

Stage two alterations can all be reversed with proper care and natural remedies, don't engage in salacious activities, stay away from dairy, cheeses and eat plenty of meat, water, wine, sweet fruits. The consumption of dairy, or increased consumption of vegetables often led to further progression of the virus and was slowed or halted by a more carnivorous diet. Also refraining from activities of self pleasures or indulgence of fornicative behavior. (note: Stage two alterations come with a very dramatic increase of the victims libido, similar to most victims of other diseases)

Stage three alterations however become permanent and irreversible. In males that develop horns, they undergo a full cranial metamorphosis. Everything above the neck is transfigured to resemble that of a bull. Along with a further increase in upper body size and strength. This leads to a dramatic drop in intelligence and critical thinking skills.

For females (or former males) that progress past stage two, the alterations are just as dramatic. A further increase in mammary tissue and the overproduction of the milk ducts results in a dramatic reduction of upper body mobility. Breast milk production is now constant and requires them to be drained more than three to four times a day for comfort. Some cases are more **** than others, requiring nearly hourly milkings to maintain mobility and comfort while rare cases never cease expressing even while the teats are un-stimulated. The hips and posterior widen further resulting in a permanent change of stance, with hips and buttocks swaying dramatically while holding their upper body forward for balance. Most stage three females become lethargic and docile as well, while also featuring a somewhat less severe drop in intelligence.

The rare hermaphroditic infected will develop the symptoms of both male and female stage three alterations. Increased male genitals, breasts, milk output, upper body strength, full conversion of the cranium into a cows, larger horns, increased hips and buttocks. However they do not develop any seeming drop in thinking or intelligence.

It should be noted, while stage twos can be reversed. Stage three infected cannot, and also remain infertile, which is somewhat of a blessing since stage threes also develop an even more increased libido.

Jenner however noticed a trend while studying the recent smallpox outbreak, studying his notes while ordering his assistant for more samples.

Smallpox was a rather simple disease, and did exactly as it sounded. smallpox reduced the victims height with every sneeze. Jenner had been commissioned to research a cure by the town's mayor who was no larger than the size of hen. He was carried by his wife nowadays since after a certain height smallpox became permanent and irreversible. Most victims only shrank a few inches, some a few feet and the most rare and dramatic ended up the size of small mouse only but a scant five or six inches tall. Jenner wasn't sure if Smallpox could make people any smaller than that, since either victims smaller than that simply vanished or that it just didn't progress any further.

However, he noticed in shortened communities ravaged by smallpox the farmers and dairy hands we're completely unaffected. When inquiring why they felt they were immune to the small pox, he found that every single farmer and dairy hand had contracted cowpox at one point in their life and somehow developed an immunity to infection of smallpox. Jenner concluded that the two viruses shared similar traits, but were not compatible in their transformations.

After various experiments Jenner had created the first vaccination of Smallpox by diluting an dull form of cowpox. The vaccination was a success, only stage one symptoms of black splotches that soon reversed after a couple weeks were noticeable and quickly reverted.

However his success against fighting Smallpox was, Jenner tried and failed countless times to find a counter to cowpox. His research assistant Ellis was an unfortunate victim of the rare strain of stage three hermaphroditic cowpox. A brilliant physician, now lacking speech and **** to express their milk nearly every hour as their body demanded. Thankfully, while their voice was robbed from him, his mind was not.

Jenner owed it to his assistant to develop a cure, since Jenner himself partly responsible for Ellis becoming infected. The guilt weighed upon him, especially since it had been six months since Ellis had seen his wife and k1ds. Jenner did not want to Ellis's loving wife to have to adjust to her new husbands needs and became **** in a search for a cure.

He had started to combine strains of cowpox with other viruses, hoping that his previous success with smallpox would create something productive.

While tinkering with a variant of the bimbonic plague, he had discovered that the transformative effects of the B-virus far surpassed that of cowpox. Meaning that with enough infection, he could overwrite the bovine strain with that of an older more treatable virus.

Jenner discussed his notes with Ellis and they both agreed to test out their theory on him first. Jenner was proud of such dedication of his assistant for the advancement of medicine. A few days later, the serum was concocted and administered to Ellis.

Jenner kept a diary of any noticeable effects.
