What do you chose to do?
Towards the raft!
Perhaps it was the human inside of you that thought any sort of floating structure was safest option in the water. But you swim kick off and wave your tail, paddling with your arms in order to make your way with al haste to raft before the squirmies get there.
You shoot out of the water with more power than you had anticipated, arching over the raft and almost falling back in the water.
You have enough time to register that there is one humanoid occupant on the raft before your slam down on the wooden planks and scrabble with all your might to get a hold of something and stop yourself from sliding back into the water entirely.
Your tail has already splashed back into the lake, but as long as you keep your gills above water you might be able to survive the squirmies onslaught.
You manage to catch hold of one of the ropes which holds the raft together and come to a blissful stop.
Your relieved but your fight is not yet over.
You look up.
[Author's question to the readers: What gender should the raft's owner be, for the author can't decide. Male, female, futa, other options?]
Who is the owner of the raft?
