Touring Gotham University

Kitty and Barbara talked well into the night, discussing everything from the nature of their respective powers to their personal lives. They connected instantly, in every possible way; like they'd known each other forever. After hours of conversation, the pair fell asleep, side by side, on Barbara's bed.

The next morning, Logan departed for Canada as planned while Batman began gathering evidence about Bane and Deathstrike's whereabouts and activities. Meanwhile, Barbara gave Kitty the grand tour of Gotham University, pointing out various features as she took her crush around campus.

"Wow. This place is impressive," Kitty remarked. "So much history..."

"You should see our science department," Barbara enthused. "It's top-notch."

Kitty nodded and smiled, "I'll bet. How much money has Bruce pumped into that?"

"An obscene amount," Barbara answered. "This is one of his big Gotham projects. He wants this place to be one of the world's prestigious universities -- and he wants to make sure that the brightest mind work and study here, no matter their background."

"That's a noble goal," Kitty remarked, taking in the lush gardens surrounding the buildings they were passing. "How much do you know about the mutant studies program here?"

"It's supposed to be one of the best. We've got some of the leading X-Gene experts at the school working with us on research, and I'm guessing you know about Gotham U's new partnership with the Xavier Institute, huh?"

"I think everyone on campus does," Kitty confirmed. "What exactly are they researching?"

Barbara smiled proudly. "They're looking into... well, pretty much anything! But so far they've done some interesting things with telepathy, psionic powers, energy projection, all sorts of stuff."

"I've been reading about the whole thing," Kitty told Barbara. "I've been thinking about talking to headmistress Munroe about possibly spending a year in the program here."

Barbara's face lit up with surprise and joy. "That'd be awesome! It's a great program. I'm sure you'd get a lot out of it."

Kitty was just as excited for this possibility. While it was a great opportunity for her own academic career, as well as a great opportunity to help mutantkind, Kitty also really hoped that staying at Gotham would give her an excuse to spend more time with Barbara. "I think so too. I'll mention it to Storm when I get back to the X-Mansion."

"Ooh! We could be roommates!" Barbara said excitedly.

"I am so in," Kitty agreed. "Wanna get some lunch now? I'm getting kinda hungry."
