Touch the jewel

Your desire to touch the lapis lazuli is so strong that before you even realise it, you're reaching out towards the collar. The mummy makes no attempt to stop you as your hand presses against the blue and gold gem. The moment your fingers make contact with the glowing jewel, you feel a shock run through your body. For a moment, you're scared, but that passes when nothing seems to happen. You step back, letting your hand drop beside you and see that the jewel has grown dark again.

"What is your desire, master?" the mummy suddenly asks.

You jump back in shock and stare at the mummy. Its eyes have changed from red to the deep blue of the lapis lazuli and you get the strange feeling that it is staring directly at you.

"Wh-what do you mean?" you reply.

"You have touched the jewel of submission", the mummy explains. "It gives you domination over one other person – in this case, myself. But be warned – you only have a limited time to use the power or it will backfire on you."

The mummy opens its mouth in what it thinks is probably a grin, but it looks nightmarish. You guess that it relishes the idea of the power backfiring on you. You need to use this power quickly. You wrack your brains, but can't think of anything concrete to ask.

"Can you help me get out of here?" you ask finally, scared that your time is running out.

Rather than reply, the mummy steps out of its sarcophagus. It walks to a stone block besides its tomb and pressed a bandaged hand against it. The stone glows briefly and you hear a rumble of moving stone somewhere else in the pyramid. When it dies down, the mummy returns to its post in the sarcophagus. You see that its eyes are once again red.

"I have completed your request", the mummy says.

You guess that you have to find out what the mummy did yourself.
