Tomorrow as she invites us to the movies!

The next day is as lovely as always, although I notice Claire is a little distracted. She's on her phone more than usual, and giggles all the time. I don't see anything wrong with that, as a little scrolling down socials hasn't killed anyone! Suddenly, as I'm getting everything ready for dinner, she squeals in excitement.

"Sweetie! Vanessa has invited us to the movies! Isn't she great?"

"Uh... Sure! Like... right now?"

"Yup! We'll watch the new League of Vengeance movie!"

"Awesome! I love those! I'll pay for the tickets and..."

"Oh, no, Vanessa already has them. She'll be paying for everything."

Cool! I still have the formal clothes for work, so I don't need to get ready. Claire, on the other hand, spends a long time getting changed and putting on makeup. She puts on a tight ivory turtleneck beneath a pastel pink cardigan adorned with tiny satin bows along the sleeves. She's also wearing a high-waisted brown-and-cream plaid pleated miniskirt, and she's wearing the heart necklace that Vanessa gave her the day before. Everything looks so expensive!

"Honey, you're gorgeous!"

"Thank you! I just wanted to-" And then there is a knock on the door. Claire squeals and immediately goes and opens the door to —who else could possibly be?— Vanessa!

"Woah, beautiful! I'm glad you're wearing what I got for you!" Vanessa immediately hugs my girlfriend, as tight and loving as before.

Vanessa is so elegant! She is wearing a turtleneck that's identical to Claire's, but Vanessa's is black, and she's paired it with high-waisted tight jeans a black leather belt and tall black boots. She also has a very stylish cropped caramel brown leather jacket. She looks classy and incredibly attractive! Both girls do! And I just look like a casual office worker... I honestly find that funny.

"Ready to go?"

"Yes!"

Vanessa takes us in her car, which is leagues above mine in terms of cost and style. I'm feeling somewhat jealous, in a weird, good way, haha! Vanessa drives while Claire rides shotgun, and I go in the backseat. We chat about the movie, and about the previous installments of the saga. Vanessa is so knowledgable about it! I didn't know! For a moment, I get the impression that her hand is always, or most of the times, on Claire's thigh, but I quickly go back to the movie conversation! It's so interesting to talk to her!

We get to the cinema without much delay, and an instant later, I'm sitting at the perfect acustic spot in the middle of the cinema, with my girlfriend next to me, and her girlfriend on the other side. Vanessa didn't buy anything to eat, but Claire has a huge bucket of popcorn on her lap, and I got myself some small popcorn, a soda, and a hot-dog.

We're still chatting when the previews start, but once the actual movie begins, we all go silent. I may focus way too much in the movie, as I'm very invested in that whole film saga! As the story unfolds, I hear Claire sighing from time to time, as the plot gets more interesting! I glance at her, and she's holding her bucket of popcorns a bit too tightly against her lap, and I see her thighs trembling a little. She's getting as excited as I am!

Some more scenes later, Claire squeals a little. I glance at her, and I see her muffling her mouth with one hand, while Vanessa licks her fingers. My girlfriend is so invested in the movie, while her girlfriend is just eating popcorn! I want to ask them what's going on, but the next scene is just so good! Vanessa whispers something in Claire's ear, and then Claire whispers at me.

"S-sorry, babe, we need to get some more snacks, a-and go to the toilet."

"What? You couldn't do that before? That's alright, sweetie, but you'll miss the good part!" I whisper back. I'm not upset, I just don't want them to ask questions later! I see them stand up carefully and walk out.

I focus completely on the movie now! It's one of the best of the saga, although I don't think it's perfect. There's a lot of action, some comedy, and lots of silly jokes. I love it!

It's only when the movie is in the middle of the third act that I notice Claire and Vanessa are sitting on their places again.

"Hey! When did you get back? You were out like one whole hour!" I whisper at them

"Uhm... sorry! Got very busy with Vanessa..." She explains. Of course, it was crowded when we got here, so there might still be tons of people buying popcorn! "Want some?" She offers her popcorns. It's dark, so I can't see well, but I accept.

"Yup! Thank you!"

I grab a handful of popcorn and eat it without moving my eyes from the screen. It tastes strange. It's really sticky, with a kinda salty and sweet flavor. To be honest, it is very good, but it feels way too slimy. Is it some kind of caramel sauce? There's a ton of it all over the popcorn. I keep on eating it, and Claire does too! We both enjoy the snack and the rest of the movie! Vanessa doesn't eat, but she does offer us napkins once we finish. She has this funny smug face... I bet she has already read comments and theories on the Internet! That's what took so long, I'm sure! I squint as her and smirk back at her!

The rest of the evening is fine, and Vanessa just hugs Claire and kisses her cheek goodbye as she left us at home.

"Those popcorns were so good!" I tell her. "I may ask for them next time!"

"Yeah... They were amazing..." Claire says with a little delighted sigh. "Definitely next time, sweetie."
