Bring on the weekend.
Togetherness.
Friday was very much a quiet day for Spencer. In the morning he washed both Amy’s and his clothing and bedding before heading into Avonwick to get a gift for Kimberly to take to the party on the weekend.
After lunch, Spencer thought of one more person he should share the news of him becoming PTA president with. Heading into his home office, it took a little bit of searching through his mailbox to find the correct email address. Sitting down in front of his computer, Spencer composed a short email. Very short in fact.
“I think you jinxed me.”
That was all the email said.
Avery was sitting at her desk when her computer chimed letting her know she’d received an email. Closing the work that she’d been doing on her screen, Avery was pleasantly surprised when the name on the email read “Spencer Askren”. Opening it the short message had her intrigued.

Waving at her assistant to close the glass door to her office to give herself some privacy, Avery picked at the phone and dialed the number for Spencer.
Seeing a D.C. number come up on his phone, Spencer knew who was calling.
“Hey, Avery,” he greeted when he answered her call.
“Hey, Spencer. So, what’s this about me jinxing you? Girlfriend dumped you already?” Avery just couldn’t help herself flirting with Spencer as soon as she heard him speak. The deep timbre of voice just turned her nethers to putty.
“No,” Spencer laughed, “Danielle and I are still together.”
“So, it’s not a good news call then,” Avery smirked.
“I just thought you might like to know after what you said about me getting more involved in the local community and all, that I am now the President of the local PTA.”
Avery laughed loudly. “And what is that? The Pussy Tasters Association.”
“Avery!” Spencer told her off which only made her laugh even more. “It’s the Parent-Teacher Association for Amy’s high school.”
“There is no way you did this voluntarily. What happened?” Avery told him and she was spot on the money.
The story got them talking with Spencer telling her what his dumb mouth had got him into by speaking up. The retelling leaving Avery in stitches at the thought of sheer annoyance on Spencer’s part. They had a long chat for close to an hour. When Spencer told Avery about Darcie being elected Vice President in retaliation, the perceptive woman correctly guessed that she was the person Spencer had slept with before getting together with Danielle but kept her mouth shut. Spencer would just deny it but the warmth in his voice when he spoke her name left no doubt in Avery’s mind. Further on Avery asked how the barn was coming on Spencer’s little homestead and said she’d like to visit again when it was built and Amy’s pony had arrived. Spencer letting her know that she was always welcome to visit them anytime she pleased.
In the end, it was a nice conversation that left Avery feeling happy after a long and unpleasant week. The cheerful and contented vibe she got from Spencer made her feel for the first time that he had been right to get out of D.C. and politics and maybe she was the dumb one for remaining.
Friday night was dinner and movies for Amy and Spencer before a sleep-in on Saturday morning. His daughter was already up and, in the kitchen when he came to make himself a coffee.
“Morning Sweetie,” he told her as he put the kettle on to boil.
“Morning Dad,” Amy replied munching on some toast. “What time was Danielle coming over today?”
“Ahh not until this afternoon for Kimberly’s mum party,” Spencer told her. He was a little taken back by her question on Dani. Amy had made a little bit of a scrunched-up face when he said she wouldn’t be over until later that day. “But I could ask her if she wanted to come over sooner if you like?”
Amy had nodded happily so that when his coffee was made, he went back to his room to give Dani a call.
“Hey, Babe,” Danielle answered feeling suddenly stupid for calling Spencer by a pet name already. Especially when he answered with a plain ‘hey’. What he had to say soon cheered her up though.
“So, Amy was asking when you were coming over and I think she’d like to see you earlier if that’s possible?”
“Awww, Spencer! That’s so sweet. I’ll get ready now and come over as soon as possible.”
“Thanks. I think she’d really appreciate that. We both would.”
It was a surprisingly fine and mild day when Dani drove over. The three of them had an early lunch before they deciding to head out on a hike out through Spencer’s property to where it connected with The Carter Trail. It was a four-hour round trip but it gave Spencer time to watch Danielle and Amy interact together. Dani, to her credit, gave every bit as much attention to Amy as she did to Spencer. When they said they were going up towards the trail in the mountains, Dani had brought her camera with her and along the way had shown Amy how to use it and given her some pointers in composing the best shots and getting better pictures.
In the last six years, Amy hadn’t known much female company since the passing of her mother. It had just been the two of them. Kirsten could never be replaced in either of their hearts but it was good to see her bonding with someone else besides her Dad. At the top of a particularly high and craggy outlook, Danielle had passed the camera to Spencer after taking some snaps of the view and asked him to take of photo of just the two girls.
Seeing Amy standing close to Danielle made Spencer’s heart catch. Danielle wasn’t the tallest and Amy was nearly the same height as Dani when she tucked herself under Dani’s armpit, their arms around each other’s shoulders. It was a bittersweet moment for Spencer. Seeing his two girls together for the first time and then thinking that Kirsten wasn’t there to experience this for herself with Amy.
By the time they’d got back it was getting towards the time they would need to get ready for Kimberly’s party. Amy went to get cleaned up while Spencer and Danielle managed to sneak a quiet quickie in the shower as they were getting ready. Spencer picking Dani up and pining her to the wall before having to pull out as she dropped to her knees and swallowed his seed.
Danielle looked beautiful in a modest Jade green dress as she got ready for the evening. The colour seeming to give an even stronger vibrancy to her lustrous red hair.

Spencer made sure to grab the present before they all piled in the car together to take the short drive back into town and to Thuong Thien.
Kimberly's birthday party.
