I paced around the dry, trimmed grass as the summer sunset calmly flooded the sky. To anyone that walked by, I had to have looked like a mad man, I was practically walking a marathon in circles.

"You're not gonna chicken! You're not gonna fuckin chicken, " I quietly yelled to myself as I faced what was probably the worst case of nervousness I had ever felt in my lifetime. In the back of my heart, it felt too good to be true, but logic allowed me to persevere.

She was pregnant with my child, and she was going to keep it. That was all the evidence I should've needed yet there I paced.

I wiped a bead of sweat from my face as the cool wind aided me in my return to confidence. I took a deep breath and meditated for a moment.

"You got this..." I mumbled to myself.

She opened the door, and as she put herself into view, I turned to face her.

She was just as stunning as she usually was, sporting a dark blue tank top that accentuated her juicy sideboob, alongside a pair of ribbed jean shorts with some converse. Even in such a casual outfit, every neuron in my brain was activated.

"Shit we might be in trouble..." I quietly muttered.

She worriedly looked back at me, "What? What did I do wrong?"

I smiled, "I don't think the skate rink would let me bring a whole ass snack onto the rink."

She giggled and put her hand out as blush ran across her face.

"Bingo!" I thought to myself as I grabbed her hand. We walked to my car, and I opened her door for her as any gentleman should. I ran over to the other side and hopped into the driver's seat before I was met with a sharp pain on my rear. I let out a quiet, rather effeminate yelp as I felt the ring box which I was trying to keep a secret stab my ass by the corner.

Anna looked over with a smug look on her face, "Yeah doesn't feel too good when you sit on yours keys, does it?"

I reminisced to when I pranked her with a trick like that and played it off to my best ability. I cranked up the reliable Honda engine and drove off to the fair.

"Well I mean it's kinda the same concept but with your toes instead, it's definitely confusing at first but once you get the initial hang of it, you'll be fine."

Anna raised her eyebrow, "So your advice isn't gonna leave me on my ass right?"

I chuckled, "Well I think my advice only goes so far when it comes to stuff requires genuine skill."

She gave me a sarcastic look, almost like she enjoyed listening to my bullshit but in a playful way.

I looked over to my right as I neared the turn to the skate rink and quickly noticed the enormous tent covering the huge parking lot next to the rink. There were festival lights and booths and many people wandering the place as people skated in a makeshift rink in the center.

Anna beamed with excitement, I was on the exact same wavelength. I pulled into the open parking lot and quickly found a spot.

We both found ourselves side by side with each other as we made our way to the rink. The crunching of the gravel beneath was weirdly nostalgic, and the obvious musical tastes of Jeremy filled our ears.

"So I guess this is what they do for the Summer festival every year. Kinda weird that I'm just hearin about this."

She shrugged her shoulders and cutely smiled at me, she playfully bumped into me as she sped a little ahead. I couldn't help but smile as I jogged alongside her to the ticket booth.

I found myself face to face with the same ticket booth lady, Annie. She saw me with Anna and immediately went red, almost in disbelief that I could pull someone like her. I smugly walked up and put my arm around Anna, "Hey Annie what's good? Could I get two tickets with skates?"

She handed me my two stubs and didn't ask for any money, "It's still 10$ a person, right?"

She smiled and gave me a wink as she shooed us a away. Anna didn't seem to have any clue why that might've been suspicious and continued to walk beside me as we made our way a booth with the same middle aged dude handing out skates.

He pointed at and smiled, "Size 8 woman's and size 11 men's, right?!"

I chuckled, "Yeah, spot on man," I grabbed the smaller woman's pair and handed them to Anna and subsequently grabbed my pair. I grabbed 20$ out my wallet and handed it to him to cement my gratitude, "I appreciate and man who can remember his customers, you take it easy!"

He smiled back and waved me as we walked through the crowd, to find a cute red table, close to the rink. The chaotic humming sound of all the skates rolling, alongside the RnB music blasting through the open tent, was all vibe needed for Anna to start shaking her hips.

I returned the gesture with a couple head nods to the music. I tightened my last lace around my skates as she did the same. I gave her a confident look as I held my hand out, In stood up on my skates and waited for her to fall towards me.

Almost on cue, she tried to stand up and immediately fell into my arms. I chuckled as she grunted in frustration, "Hey shut it!"

I lifted her up, making her face to face with me in seconds, she looked a little nervous, but in a good way. I lightly tugged her as we started to skate our way to the rink. Getting through the crowd is usually never fun, but today it just seemed like everyone just so happened to be moving out of the way for me. It didn't seem coincidental or anything, just weird and convenient.

I found us face to face with the familiar sight of skaters zooming by as we tried to enter. I turned to her, she looked stiff and started to grip my wrist tightly, "Hey don't worry, I've got you remember?"

She looked at me with relieved eyes and sighed as she squeezed my hand tighter.

It was a little different this time, people of different shape, size, and age were all doing their best to keep up with each other. It was mayhem.

I noticed a small gap in upcoming traffic and tugged at Ana's hand, "Let's go."

She nodded as I quickly took off, she nearly stumbled from the fast acceleration. I grabbed her by the waist with my right arm and made sure she didn't lose her balance.

She regained her footing pretty quick and actually loosened her grip on my arm as she started to relax. I let go of her and quickly turned around to face her, "Hey, you haven't fallen on your ass yet, congrats!"

She giggled and started to pick up the pace, "I'll take that compliment!"

She quickly caught up to me and somehow ended up almost crashing into me, but I managed to grab her wrists and actually end up in a pretty romantic pose as soft RnB music We swayed our hips for a moment before I spun her around, side by side with me, "You wanna learn it now?"

I dragged her to the side as a couple incoming strangers almost skated through us. She giggled, "Yeah sure let's do it, you said with your toes right?"

I nodded, and slowed us down towards the outside of the ring, pointing down at my feet to try and get her to mimic it.

She was a natural, she was skating backwards with me and doing twirls with the music in the blink of an eye. I knew the night was just getting started.

Hours passed, it was dark out, the music was died down and a lot of people had either left, or were preparing to leave. Me and Ana had a wonderful night, the raw connection we had with each other was almost contagious. I knew Jeremy was gonna wait until somewhat late, so he had to be close.

Anna looked somewhere between flirty and exhausted, either way I don't think she would ask to stop until I did.

"Alright skaterssss let's have a solo dance for all da couples in the crowd, all da couples."

I looked around and noticed there was no one on the rink but us. My heart dropped as I realized my opportunity was arriving.

I heard the vintage sounding intro to what I was pretty sure was a Los Retros song.

"Wake up alone."

I smiled as, knowing damn well Jeremy would do me right. I held Ana's let go of Anna's hand and put my arm around her shoulder, she smiled and looked up to me.

"In the morning with no one at my side."

I noticed a small crowd start to build around the railing around the rink. They seemed to enjoy our skating.

"I've waited too long, waiting for the lucky one."

Her smile was so fixed onto her face, she made me feel so confident and warm.

"My sweetheart, where are you?"

I gently shrugged her to face me, knowing what I was about to do.

"Ana... I.. I feel like when I'm here... skating beside you... I wouldn't trade it for the world."

"I need someone to spend my time with."

She sighed a with heavy relief, I had her.

I let go of her shoulder, and turned around to face her, we held hands, her eyes were sparkling with love, "Ana... I want this to last forever... me and you..."

She went wide eyed as I slowed us down near the center of the rink, blush ran across her face, I slowly lowered myself onto one knee, "Ana..."

"To give, and share all my loooooovvee~"

She put her hands over her mouth and went teary eyed as I reached into my back pocket. We came to a stop as I pulled the ring box out and popped it open.

"...Will you marry me?"

Without any hesitation, she nodded her head, "Yes!"

I heard a miniature eruption from the crowd as I smiled back at her. She tried to smile back at me but failed as a flurry of tears ran down her face.

I a asked for her arm and she quickly put her hand out. Her breath was shaky and filled with emotion as I slid the ring onto her dainty finger.

She wiped her face and cutely sniffled, "Jacob... I love you so much!"

I stood up and grabbed her arms, staring into her deep emerald eyes, "You’re my one and only Ana, till **** due us part."

She smiled and hugged me tight, her familiar warmth enveloped me, reminding me that she was now mine forever. I leaned down, and offered my lips to her. We softly kissed each other, I knew neither of us had any second thoughts. We were madly in love, in fact more important questions needed to be answered. I let go from her lips and gave her a smile, "So... Where should we go for our honey moon~?"
