Chapter 20
by No.Eight
Time to be gone?
To the temple!
A couple of hours later you're standing inside a glyph that Theia has drawn on the floor, having handed over to her the golden eye that the goddess gave you and the protective ring from Fae. You're loathe to see the latter go, especially since you're about to go up against an enchanter, but you really have ****.
"If my calculations are correct, you should end up no more than a five minute walk from the temple," Theia says.
"And if they're wrong?"
"Then you won't be alive long enough to find out. You'll probably end up impaled on a tree or something."
What a nice thought. But there's no backing down now. She concentrates on the glyph, closing her eyes and whispering to herself under her breath; the glyph starts to glow, then shine so brightly that you have to close your eyes yourself. When you open them again, you're no longer in Theia's tower, but standing in a woodland glade. You can see the ruined tower of a temple over the tops of the trees, and you head towards it earnestly.
The temple itself is a hulking ruin, and if you were a lesser man you would be afraid to step inside it looks so foreboding. But then, you're not a lesser man in any respect, and your courage leads you on as firmly as the twitching of your cock at the thought of Doe. Damn, but she was hot!
Near the entrance you find some supplies that Doe must have left there, and you pick up a torch and light it. Although you can't be entirely sure where the enchanter will have secreted himself, you guess (from experience) that it will be in the dankest, darkest, deepest room in the whole place. With this in mind, from the main entrance hall you head straight on down the passageway opposite you, and then into a labyrinth of corridors, lighting a torch as you go. These lead you ever downwards, down spiralling flights of stairs and deeper and deeper into the earth.
But soon enough you come upon a dead end where the ceiling has caved in to leave the hallway strewn with a great pile of rubble. There's no gap for you to get through and you saw no other passageways to go down. Cursing your luck, you try to figure out what to do next.
Don't suppose there's a back door?
