To the library

You feel more than a little ridiculous in your outfit, but based on your limited interactions with Holly, you'll think she'll find it funny even if she doesn't find it attractive. You can't understand why she wouldn't, though; you look hot.

You throw a coat over yourself and head out into the cold outdoors. Your house is about a ten minute walk to the college library, enough time for you to be really feeling the chill under your skin before you arrive.

You're already looking for Holly's arrival the second you enter the library lobby. Before today you had never really thought about Holly much, but now you find yourself eager to see her.

She arrives five minutes after you, late to the point that you had started to become impatient. She strolls into the library looking proud and unmoved by the stares of the guys (and at least one girl) around her in the library. To fight the chill, she's wearing an elegant gray coat with a fur lining with big sunglasses over her eyes. The dark fur seems to blend with her voluminous brown hair. "Hayley!" she says in a British accent that you suddenly find irresistible. "How are you? How are your exams going?"

"Uh, good," you stammer. "How about yours, Holly?"

Holly sets her bag and her books down on the closest table and invites you to sit down on the other side with a wave of her hand. She removes her coat. Underneath, she's wearing a low-cut mahogany top with a simple gold necklace. "I've only just started," she says, removing her sunglasses. "Have you started studying for psychology yet?" You love the way she says psychology, like 'SAI-colo-gee.' There's something about it that you can't pin down, but it seems so... grown up, so in control.

"No," you say. "I was hoping we could do that together."

Holly smiles, cupping her chin in the palm of her hand. "Let's," she says. "Where do you want to go?"
