To the Pokemart!

The Pokemart was thankfully right next door to the Pokecenter, and I rushed over happily with my newly restored Chikorita. With the cash my mother had given me, I was ready to purchase some Pokeballs and perhaps some potions as well. If I wanted to be the very best, I needed to make sure I had all the gear necessary to do so.

Entering the mart, I could see a large man at the counter, his eyes on me the moment I entered. Browsing the wares, I picked out a few capture balls and a few potions, bringing them to the front in a heap on the counter itself.

The portly man just stared at me as he rang up each item with his little scanner, his eyes devouring my form. I felt incredibly uncomfortable as he eyes lingered, but I knew I would only be here for a short time.

Finally, he rang up the final item and called out the total. "$855."

I mouthed the number and looked at my pack, counting the dollars quickly as I flipped through them. I didn't nearly have that much, and the price of the items was heavily marked up from what I had been told weeks earlier.

"I don't have that." I whispered, pulling the funds out of my pack. The portly man looked at the money and my face, obviously unimpressed.

"If you don't have the funds, you will need to return some of these items." I let out a sad groan as I looked across the mart, not wanting to return really anything on the counter. The man leaned in low across the countertop, his voice as low as he could make it. "Unless you want to pay another way."

I froze, my mind reeling from such a question. Was he really asking what I think he was asking?

"What do you mean?" I asked, backing up a few inches to put some distance between us.

"I think you know." he growled, giving me a wink.
