To the Lake

Ashley knew that just a little out of town was a lake, one that many people frequented, and where she’d heard stories that some people even went to go skinny dipping at, since some parts of the lake were rarely visited and it was a perfect spot for stuff like that. Ashley would have to take the bus to get there, but it would be worth it for the beauty she knew the lake had to offer. Plus, the prospect of trying to go skinny dipping sounded like a lot of fun!

After getting the necessary supplies like a towel and sunscreen, as well as a swimsuit in case she decided not to skinny dip after all, Ashley headed out, heading the bus stop, and taking the annoyingly crowded bus all the way to the lake. She was happy to see only a few people got off with her, and although she knew the general way she was going to find one of the “secret spots” her fellow college mates were talking about, it still took her some time to actually find the path.

It was a warm day, perfect for swimming, as if it was meant to be. The short walk through the trees was also incredibly peaceful and serene, birds flying overheard as various animals made noises around her. It was one of the few times where Ashley felt like perhaps nature had a chance against humanity’s growth, but she wasn’t there to think about that kind of thing.

Eventually, she made it to the spot which was, thankfully, completely empty. Of course, she had no way of knowing if it would stay that way, but given that it was a known spot to go skinny dipping, even if she was caught, she doubted anything bad would actually come from it.

As she walked up to the small, sandy shore and set down her stuff, she could see a few boats far in the distance, far enough that she was sure they wouldn’t be able to see little old her on that shore.

But as she stood there, seeing that there were indeed other people at the lake, even if they were so far away, she began to wonder…

Was she actually going to go skinny dipping? Or simply normal swimming?
