And where does that tail go next?
To her party, duh!
By the time the first guests arrived at the rented party location, Elly had figured out her tail enough to stop it from randomly getting in between her legs and tripping her up. In all honesty, she was starting to feel a little uncomfortable; the constant pressure inside her was unfamiliar, and the clenches required to move the tail were becoming taxing, but she was determined to keep it in until the party was over. She was, after all, celebrating her entrance into pethood. There was no way she would do so without a tail.
Most of the guests invited were her friends from Uni, a group of six girls with whom she had classes. Two older friends from her school days were also invited, as well as a few childhood friends. All in all, the group was about two-thirds female, one-third male, with all the guys being people she grew up with since childhood.
Elly considered herself to have a strange relationship with men. Most of the time, her opinion of them ranged from a detached neutral to active dislike, often because of a certain tendency to leer at her sizeable breasts. Heck, till relatively recently, she had considered herself a lesbian, her only ex being a former classmate turned girlfriend.
But then there were the rare guys she actually felt attracted to, and some very hot straight porn videos she very much enjoyed.
"Happy birthday!" Naomi told her even as she was enveloped in a hug and ripped out of her thoughts. The twenty-one-year-old muscled mountain of a woman was almost half a head taller than Elly, so she was pulled firmly against her shoulder as they hugged it out.
"Thanks so much!" Elly replied happily. Ending the hug, she looked up to Noami, spotting the rounded pair of brown bear ears amidst her crown of hair.
"Finally, one of us, hm?" The bear girl grinned before turning and wiggling the short, thick tail poking through a hole in her jeans. Naomi was a strange one in many regards. Bear girls weren't the most popular of choices, though it suited both her height and muscular build. Jeans, or pants in general, also weren't the most popular among pet dressers, with skirts and dresses proving way less hassle with their tails.
"Finally!", Elly agreed with a happy sigh and made her tail happily bounce from side to side.
"Damn, you practiced, hm?", came a comment from the side. Loise, a puppy girl with beautiful, pale blond hair, came over, her long tail mirroring Elly's movements. "I remember it took me weeks to get any good with it!", she told Elly.
Since Loise was only 4 months older than Elly, it hadn't been long. Even so, Elly could tell that she'd massively improved in just that short time.
"Yeah, yeah. You got a tail. We got it. Wuhu. Let's actually talk about the fact you are finally no longer a teen!", Mila chimed in. Unlike the first two of her Uni friends, she wasn't a pet girl, having decidedly negative opinions on the whole institution.
"Don't be such a downer." Naomi rolled her eyes. "You know how much Elly looked forward to finally getting a tail."
Mila looked a little torn before sighing. "I guess." Turning to Elly, she gave her a brief hug.
"I hope you know I'm happy for you! As long as you don't go off getting yourself a Master right away!"
"I know, I know. Don't worry, I don't plan on tying myself down any time soon," Elly replied as she returned the hug. Mila could be a bit annoying with her strong anti-pet sentiment, but in the end, Elly knew that she just meant well.
"It's probably going to be a mistress anyway,", Loise chimed in, her grin mischievous.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that.", a new voice threw in. Evie came back from the snack table with a handful of salted breadsticks.
"Oh? Do you know something we don't?", Mila asked in a mock scandalized tone. Evie made a mysterious face and shrugged. "Just know that our dear Elly isn't feeling as sapphic as she once did."
The group turned to her, causing Elly to blush and her pair of fox ears to cower.
"As Evie said. We will see. Right now I don't have anyone I'm interested in, female or male."
That didn't quite seem to satisfy most of them, but new people were arriving at the party, so Elly went to greet them. It was another two girls, one of them the final of her Uni friends, Irine, a petite cat girl, as well as Alice, a former schoolmate who didn't pet dress.
They congratulated Elly before going over to the other guests and making conversation.
Soon enough the final few guests also arrived, these being either old friends from school or even older childhood friends. Including the only two guys to be invited, Rico and Eliott. The former was a class mate who had always hung around her old friend group during break. A deeply unserious goofball who somehow managed to be actually competent in the things he liked. He'd gone to a different Uni than Elly to study electric engineering, so they hadn't talked in a while and Elly was happy to catch up with him. Especially since she had heard over the grapevine that he'd gotten himself a pet-dressing girlfriend at his Uni.
The other guy was Eliott, probably the person she'd known the longest out of all her friends. He'd been her neighbor all the way from elementary school to high school, and while they'd never been at the same school, they'd grown up close. After moving out for Uni, this closeness had strained a little, with the decreased contact causing their sibling dynamic to slowly degrade.
"Happy birthday, Elly!", Eliott said as he drew her into a careful hug. The huge smile on his lips and genuine delight at seeing her made Elly grin foolishly. "Happy birthday you crazy fox.", came from the side, with Riko giving her a friendly wink.
"Finally happy now that you got the tail?", the cheerful idiot asked. Elly shrugged, but the happy grin probably gave away just how much she finally felt complete.
"Glad to see it.", Riko said, for once without any jokes and only sincerity.
"Yeah, it really looks great on you.", Eliott complimented, and Elly could swear that there was a hint of a blush and embarrassment on his face.
"Only missing a collar now, right?", came a female voice from behind her. Jane, a red-headed fox girl, former classmate and Riko's ex, enveloped Elly in a hug.
"Not like you wear one.", Elly retorted, and the other fox girl grinned.
"Haven't found a guy worthy of collaring me.", Elly glanced over to Riko, who took the ribbing with practiced amusement. They'd broken up two years ago, and while there was still some simmering heat about it, both were still good friends.
After a bit more small talk, they joined the rest of the group, and people split up into pairs or trios to talk. As usual for these sorts of events, the different groups of friends tended to stay isolated, though Elly did see Riko strike up conversation with some of her Uni friends.
She, on the other hand, tried to circle through all of them. A task that was harder than she had originally thought it would be.

So I'mm a be real here. I have somewhat written myself into a corner here because I have no clue where to go from here. This was supposed to be the story of a young adult finding her way in a world with petgirls, but my problem is that there is no real story concept behind it. So if anyone has any ideas on how to continue, PLEASE do comment them and I will see if I can find some inspiration there.
