To dig

Drawing upon the energies of the Dungeon Heart Carlos Shardock drew upon its magical knowledge and with a mental chant appeared ten small kobolds, wielding pickaxes, miner hats and backpacks, with several poofs of smoke. "What master want dug up?" One of the kobolds asked with a gleeish glint in its little eyes as Carlos began to get used to the magic of the heart, as it conjured forth a three dimensional map of the areas around it, Carlos was already mentally marking several places that looked to contain good resources. But there was only one spot near the heart that could be of use for the moment.

Drawign his finger across the map he marked the path for the kobolds who was tied to the dungeon heart and thus knew what to do, with childish laughter the kboolds scrambled off and began to dig out of the square shaped room, their pickazes splitting through the solid rock like it was made out of clay. As the reptilians made work of the walls the newly appointed Dungeon Keeper began to learn what he could about his dungeon heart, the heart's dormant magic was teaching him what he could do with it and already did he know the first pair of rooms he could build.

But before he could ponder on the living quarters of his soon to be loyal subjects he saw the magical map flare up and revealed a new open space that the kobolds had opened up as they had dug through the underground. It was a hole surrounded by four jagged crystal spires with a swirling dark matrix in its depth, a portal, Carlos had heard about these magical transportation systems that the Keepers used to summon beasts and travel the underworld, then another flare opened up on the map, revealing a large open chamber, around the same size asthe room he was in now. It was marked with several yellow and gray dots, which Carlos assumed was for gold and silver.
